One round, two races: Fuji is the scene of the 2022 Super Formula season opener. For this year reigning champion Tomoki Nojiri finally has a teammate in Ukyo Sasahara, and we have him on the F1 Feeder Series Podcast to preview 2022.

Ukyo Sasahara returns to Team Mugen, the team where he made his Super Formula debut in 2020. That year he collected five points in seven races. For 2021he initially missed out on a seat but got a call from Docomo Team Dandelion Racing to replace an ill-stricken Tadasuke Makino. He had two races and got his inaugural podium at Suzuka. With that podium in his back pocket he returns to the team he made his debut with.
Sasahara has a history in Europe: he made his debut in single-seaters back in 2013 when he was just 16 years old. With a few wins under his belt, he returned to Japan in 2017 and that where the success began. He got 2nd in Japanese F4, 3rd in Japanese F3 and won F3 Asia.
Here’s the F1 Feeder Series Podcast featuring Ukyo Sasahara, previewing the 2022 Super Formula season! Listen to it on YouTube, Spotify and Google Podcasts.
