They both were in Italy, but for different reasons: Frederik Vesti competed in Imola and got his first points in Formula 2 and Pierre-Louis Chovet was at Monza for the first round of FRECA, not as a driver but as a driver coach. We talked about their weekend in the latest F1 Feeder Series Podcast.

It hasn’t been the best of starts to Frederik Vesti’s season, but the Danish ART GP driver did score his first points in Formula 2 by getting 6th in the Feature Race. 2022 being the longest ever F2 season means not all is lost for the 20-year-old Mercedes F1 Junior. He also has the current championship leader Theo Pourchaire as team mate. The Frenchman is someone the rookie can learn a lot from.
Pierre-Louis Chovet is somewhat of a fan favourite. The French driver did two FIA F3 campaigns – in 2020 and 2021 – but only totals four rounds for three teams. As with a lot of drivers these days, budget has been an issues for the 2021 F3 Asia runner-up, and after another Formula Regional Asia campaign earlier this year, Chovet is again without a seat in single-seater. He is racing in the GT4 European Series though and was at the FRECA Monza opening round to coach Hamda Al Qubaisi.
F1 Feeder Series Podcast #15
In the latest F1 Feeder Series Podcast, hosted by Jim Kimberley, Vesti and Chovet talk F2, F2 and FRECA. But also the ART GP curse (does it exist?), racing in the US and how Vesti ended up at Mercedes.
