On the day that Anthoine Hubert passed away three years ago, we talked to Juan Manuel Correa, Victor Martins and Gregoire Saucy. And on the latest episode of the F1 Feeder Series Podcast the talked about the late French driver, but also their FIA F3 season and Spa in particular.
By Floris Visman
Juan Manuel Correa was remarkably open about Anthoine Hubert and that fateful day in 2019. Although, remarkable, Correa admits he has no trouble talking about the Frenchman. “I don’t mind talking about it because it brings back Anthoine’s memories, his legacy and we can remember him.”
Correa, Victor Martins and Gregoire Saucy are team mates at ART GP in FIA F3 this year and all three drivers have walked a different path to end up in the same place. Correa was starring in Formula 2 in 2019 when the accident happened. A long recovery followed and he restarted his career in 2021 in F3.
21 year old Martins had a very gradual buildup of his career. Two years of French F4, were followed by three years of Formula Renault Eurocup (which he won in 2020) and the French driver is currently in his second year of Formula 3.
Saucy has a remarkable junior single-seater career. The Swiss driver didn’t win a race until last year, spanning from 2016 until the start of 2021. That year he dominated in FRECA, winning his first ever feeder series race and seven others to win the championship.
We sat down with them on the F1 Feeder Series Podcast to talk Anthoine Hubert, 2022, their future and way more. Check it out now on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
