F2 and F3 conclude their stretch of consecutive rounds this weekend as GB3, F4 CEZ and Indy NXT all hold events of their own. Get caught up on all the junior single-seater action happening this weekend.

We’re almost through the so-called tripleheader for F1, F2 and F3 in what has been one of the busiest stretches of racing all year. After supporting this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, F2 and F3 will enjoy a break for several weeks before returning to action at the end of the month at the Red Bull Ring.
While the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya still has a contract with F1 for next year, its place beyond that on the calendar is uncertain. The arrival of the Madring, which has a 10-year deal with F2 and F3 beginning in 2026, means this year’s events might be among the last held in Barcelona for F1’s primary support series. Read what drivers and teams had to say about the potential change in venue here.
If you’re looking for something different, GB3 races this weekend at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, while F4 CEZ takes to the tight and twisty Salzburgring to conclude a trio of rounds held in Austria. Indy NXT, IndyCar’s flagship support series, also races at Detroit as that paddock winds down from the Month of May in Indianapolis.
The Nordic region’s junior single-seater series also continue their seasons, several rounds of which are held jointly. This weekend, drivers entered in the new Nordic Championship Formula and Formula Nordic will compete at Karlskoga in a multi-class, multi-series contest. Learn more about the various championships and their tweaked structure for 2025 here.
Finally, an F2 driver will make his F1 free practice debut later today. ART Grand Prix’s Victor Martins, announced as a Williams junior two months ago, will be taking over Alex Albon’s car.

What to know: Formula 2 returns for its third round in as many weekends and its sixth round of 2025 at Barcelona after a chaotic Monaco event.
In the drivers’ standings, six drivers are within 20 points of championship leader Luke Browning, who took the championship lead for the first time on Sunday despite having yet to win his first F2 race. Three points behind Browning is former leader Alex Dunne on 67 points. The McLaren junior heads to Barcelona with a 10-place grid penalty for the sprint race for causing a first-corner pile-up in the Monaco feature race.
Leonardo Fornaroli is a further three points back in third on 64 points. The Italian has scored points at every round in 2025 so far. MP Motorsport driver Richard Verschoor is fourth on 59 points, ahead of Monaco feature winner Jak Crawford on 56 and Arvid Lindblad on 51. There are no driver changes.

What to know: Formula 3 concludes its stretch of three back-to-back race weekends of the season with a trip to Barcelona, marking the halfway point of the 2025 championship.
All eyes will be on Spanish outfit Campos Racing to see if they can win on home soil with a Spanish driver for the fourth consecutive season. Last year, Mari Boya previously took his maiden victory at the circuit, with Pepe Martí winning in 2023 and David Vidales in 2022.
Championship leader Rafael Câmara will be keen to bounce back and return to his usual form after a disastrous round in Monaco. The Brazilian scored only four points last weekend and saw his lead decrease to 13 points. Tim Tramnitz and Nikola Tsolov, who are second and third in the standings, are catching up to him, having delivered consistent performances all season.
Mexican driver José Garfias, 20, will be replacing the injured James Hedley for this round, stepping into the #26 AIX Racing car. Hedley sustained an injury to his hand in an accident during the sprint race in Monaco and was subsequently absent from the feature race. Garfias is sixth in the Euroformula Open standings after two rounds, and he has prior history with AIX from having appeared for the team in post-season testing last year.
Hitech also announced the departure of Joshua Dufek from the #15 car ahead of the fifth round and confirmed Jesse Carrasquedo as his replacement. The 18-year-old Mexican is set to drive with the team for the upcoming rounds in Barcelona and Austria, but no permanent plans for the seat beyond that have been announced thus far. Carrasquedo is currently 10th after the first round of his primary campaign in Eurocup-3 with Campos.

What to know: The GB3 Championship returns after a one-week break, this time visiting the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
Though the championship may be British, four of the top five drivers in the championship are Australian. At the top, Patrick Heuzenroeder of new team Xcel Motorsport holds a 14-point advantage over Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic, both of whom picked up their first wins of the season in round two.
Deagen Fairclough, the sole Briton in the top five, will look to continue his good form after finishing all three races at Zandvoort inside the top four. He is currently fourth in the standings, tied on 98 points with third-placed Noah Lisle.
In the teams’ championship, just 10 points separate Hitech GP and Rodin Motorsport despite the fact that the former have yet to win a race this season.
The series will feature a predicted 23-car grid this weekend as a number of drivers return after not taking part in the second round of the season at Zandvoort. The Hillspeed trio of Freddie Slater, Kanato Le and Hiyu Yamakoshi as well as Xcel Motorsport’s Dion Gowda all return to GB3 after missing the Zandvoort race weekend to fulfil their commitments in FRegional Europe – incidentally at Spa.
Slater, who took two victories in the GB3 season opener at Silverstone, has recent success at the Belgian circuit, having taken his first FR Europe win in the first race of that most recent FR Europe round. Yamakoshi, Le and Gowda all scored their best results of the season there too, finishing second, fourth and fifth respectively in race two.
Elsewhere on the grid, Fortec Motorsport will continue to be without Mika Abrahams. Rashid Al Dhaheri is also absent for Chris Dittmann Racing for the third weekend in a row, casting doubt on his future participation in the championship.
Hugo Schwarze, however, remains with VRD Racing for another round after winning his first single-seater race in the final race at Zandvoort. The German said it was ‘very special’ to finish the weekend with a win after only finding out he would be able to race on the Wednesday of that week.

What to know: F4 CEZ will stay in Austria for its third round of the season as the series heads northwest to the Salzburgring to conclude its three-round Austrian sojourn.
After winning two out of three races last time out in Spielberg, Jenzer Motorsport’s Gino Trappa took the points lead ahead of Maffi Racing’s David Walther, who won race two. The Argentine leads by 41 points over the Dane and 49 over teammate Max Karhan.
William Karlsson’s outing at Spielberg last time out with Renauer Motorsport was originally meant to be a one-off after a year on the sidelines, but he will return for this round after claiming two second place-finishes. Also on the podium during the weekend were Karlsson’s teammate Hady-Noah Mimassi and Mathilda Racing’s Mathilda Paatz. Mimassi finished third in race two, whilst Paatz took second place in race three, becoming the first female driver to finish on the overall podium in F4 CEZ’s history.
Chase Fernandez of AS Motorsport appeared on the last round’s entry list but was not at the track, and he also has not appeared on this round’s entry list. Jenzer Motorsport’s Bautista Acosta also appeared on the Salzburgring entry list but is not expected to race for the Swiss team.

Weather forecast: Cloudy with a slight chance of showers Friday. Sunny Saturday and Sunday.
What to know: Indy NXT’s fourth round of 2025 takes place at the Detroit street circuit, which hosts the series for the third year in succession.
With 187 points, Dennis Hauger still holds the drivers’ championship lead entering the round after winning the most recent race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. His advantage, though, has decreased significantly.
In the first race of that doubleheader, the Norwegian driver made a mistake at the opening corner and fell to the rear of the field. He ultimately recovered to finish eighth, but Lochie Hughes’ lights-to-flag victory in that race and second-place finish the next day elevated the Australian to within 15 points of Hauger.
There are two driver changes for the round. Per a seat-sharing agreement devised at the start of the season, HMD Motorsports will field Max Taylor in car #18 for this weekend in place of Nikita Johnson, who is competing in GB3 at Spa. For the remainder of June, he will then hand the car over to Evagoras Papasavvas, who drove the #24 vacated by Sophia Floersch in the last three rounds. That car is not running this weekend.
