Eurocup-3 in 2026: Dallara car, Madring debut and new teams revealed

Going into its fourth season, Eurocup-3 is set for a complete shake-up as it introduces a brand-new chassis, welcome new additions to the grid and races at major new venues. Feeder Series tells you all that you need to know about the championship’s 2026 season.

Eurocup-3 enters its second generation in 2026, switching from Tatuus’ F3 T-318-EC3 to Dallara’s new Dallara 326. The championship was originally set to remain with the manufacturer based in Lombardy, Italy, and utilise its second-generation Formula Regional chassis. This had been planned since the championship’s inception ahead of 2023, as its unique aero kit intended to preview Tatuus’ aims of reducing dirty air and encourage closer racing with the next generation. The new chassis was meant to debut this year, but the FIA’s delay in releasing the homologation regulations meant that it was pushed back one year.

The 326 will be powered by the same Toyota-sourced and TOM’S-developed turbocharged three-cylinder engine currently used in Euroformula Open and Super Formula Lights’ Dallara 324. It will produce 275 bhp, five more than the current turbocharged four-cylinder Alfa Romeo engine, and will no longer have the extra 25 bhp for push-to-pass.

The championship will also utilise a new exclusive tyre compound from Hankook, tailored for the new chassis. Other notable technical additions include a new Cosworth steering wheel that can display race direction commands in real time, using the championship’s new Electronic Smart Marshalling system.

The 326 will be structurally identical to the 324, meaning that the championship will depart from its aerodynamic design philosophy of replicating current F1 machinery. Its arrival next year means Eurocup-3 will also be the only FR-level championship in Europe outside of Euroformula Open to use a Dallara chassis.

The calendar

The under-construction Madring circuit is the highlight of Eurocup-3’s 2026 calendar, replacing the Circuito de Jerez as the championship’s other Spanish round besides Barcelona. Eurocup-3, alongside Spanish F4, will inaugurate the 5.474-kilometre track ahead of F1’s Spanish Grand Prix in September.

The calendar again consists of eight rounds in seven countries. The series makes its first ever visit to the home of the British Grand Prix with a race at Silverstone, whilst Imola replaces Monza as the series’ Italian round. Four of the rounds will consist of two races, while the other four will have a sprint race, as seen in Portimão and Paul Ricard this year.

  • Round 1: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (April)
  • Round 2: Circuit Paul Ricard (1–3 May)
  • Round 3: Red Bull Ring (16–18 May)
  • Round 4: Algarve International Circuit (5–7 June)
  • Round 5: Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (3–5 July)
  • Round 6: Madring (August)
  • Round 7: Silverstone Circuit (11–13 September)
  • Round 8: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (6–8 November)

It is also currently understood that the Spanish Winter Championship package is set to return next year.

Next year’s teams

Two British teams will join the grid next year, the more significant of which is Hitech. Last year in GB3, the only FR-level series in which they currently compete, the team finished as the runner-up in the teams’ championship. Hitech last competed in an official FR series in 2023 in FR Middle East.

The other addition, Double R Racing, hasn’t competed in any form since 2023, when they fielded Freddie Slater in the final two rounds of British F4. They last competed at the FR level in 2022, when the team was the sole operator of the W Series field.

Two Spanish F4 teams will also join the grid in 2026, as TC Racing and Tecnicar Motorsport make their FR-level competition debut.

The namesake team of Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois joined Spanish F4 last year. Led by Roberto Merhi, the team came ninth in the standings, with Gabriel Gomez scoring all their 13 points. The team added a third car to their line-up this year and came eighth in the Eurocup-4 SWC with 18 points courtesy of Alfio Spina. The team currently sit eighth in Spanish F4 with nine points.

Tecnicar Motorsport debuted in 2023, starting out with two cars. By the end of the year, the team fielded four cars, as they do today. Their debut season proved to be their strongest one yet, as Tecnicar came ninth in the teams’ standings with 19 points, all scored by Hiyu Yamakoshi.

MP Motorsport, Campos Racing, GRS Team, Drivex and Palou Motorsport will all return to the championship. Winter series champion and current Spanish F4 points leader Thomas Strauven is the first driver confirmed to be racing in the championship with Campos Racing, as Feeder Series revealed in March.

One more team is yet to be confirmed. Feeder Series understands that Saintéloc Racing are likely the team in question, as the French outfit are currently evaluating their entry. Saintéloc have been in the series since the fifth round of Eurocup-3’s inaugural season in 2023 and have since taken two wins and two more podiums. Alexander Abkhazava took the team’s first win in Portimão last year and Garrett Berry took their second in this year’s Le Castellet sprint race.

Newcomers Allay Racing have not been announced as a returning team for 2026, and it is currently unknown whether the Swedish outfit are indeed set to return. The team joined the grid earlier this year with Swedish entrepreneurs and brothers Linus and Emil Hellberg as drivers. In Monza, Owen Tangavelou moved over from DX Racing Team to join them in a third car. The team have yet to score points in the championship and sit 10th in the standings.

Editor’s note, 30 July 2025, 15:36 CEST: A previous version of this article suggested that at the Formula Regional level, only Euroformula Open and Super Formula Lights use non-Tatuus chassis. FRegional Americas and FRegional Japan use chassis from other manufacturers. The article has been updated for clarity.
