Indy NXT, GB3, GB4, Formula 4 CEZ and Japanese F4 are among the junior single-seater series racing this weekend. Feeder Series tells you how to keep up with them all.
By Feeder Series
During the summer break for Formula 1 and its support series, a number of other junior championships had their moment to shine. This weekend we spotlight four more, while a fifth gears up for some of the tensest moments of its season.
That championship, IndyCar support series Indy NXT, heads to the Milwaukee Mile for its penultimate round of 2025. Points leader Dennis Hauger is in a strong position to clinch the title as early as Sunday’s 90-lap race – but that’s not the only title that could be decided this weekend..
While GB3’s title fight is yet to be decided with three rounds remaining, GB4 only has two more to go, and Daniel Guinchard has a slim chance of leaving Brands Hatch with the crown wrapped up. So too can Gino Trappa take the F4 CEZ title this weekend at the Slovakia Ring, especially with David Walther – one of four drivers mathematically able to stop him – not racing this weekend. Japanese F4 is still in the first half of its season as it makes the trip to Suzuka this weekend.
We may not be covering them in detail here, but Nordic 4 and Formula Nordic will race at Jyllandsringen this weekend in a combined round. Indian F4 also heads to Madras with four races on the schedule following the postponement of last weekend’s third race. And ahead of next weekend’s Donington Park round, British F4 held a test day at the circuit, where points leader Fionn McLaughlin secured first place as 14-year-old Dries Van Langendonck, a McLaren junior, set the fifth-fastest time for Rodin Motorsport.

Weather forecast: Sunny all weekend.
What to know: Of the five single-seater series on the IndyCar ladder, only one has yet to crown its 2025 champion. But that could all change this weekend at the Milwaukee Mile as long as Indy NXT points leader Dennis Hauger maintains his 54-point advantage over Caio Collet.
Entering the season’s penultimate round, Andretti Global’s Hauger, 22, has amassed six wins and three further podiums in a standout rookie season in IndyCar’s direct feeder championship. With a maximum of 54 points available per weekend, Hauger only needs to finish ahead of second-year Collet of HMD Motorsports to clinch the drivers’ title for certain.
The champion receives an $850,000 prize to put towards a 2026 Indianapolis 500 entry, an additional IndyCar race, and several series-run testing opportunities. Hauger has already clinched the Rookie of the Year award, which comes with a cash bonus and IndyCar simulator testing opportunities at chassis manufacturer Dallara.
The series will feature its smallest grid of 2025 with just 18 cars entered. Nolan Allaer of HMD Motorsports is missing this weekend because of ‘family and school obligations’. Allaer is a graduating senior at Miami University in Ohio, which has its first day of classes on Monday. He and the #11 entry, which will not be filled this weekend, will return for the season finale in Nashville.
Also absent from this weekend’s round is the #39 entry of Juan Manuel Correa, who has completed his seven scheduled rounds. With Liam Sceats in the #30 entry still not racing, HMD’s once nine-strong line-up is down to six this weekend.
Elsewhere at the team, part-time entrant Max Taylor returns to the #18, which he last raced in Laguna Seca last month, for his final round of the season. Ovals-only entrant Davey Hamilton will close out the season in the #24, which was driven by debutant Nicholas Monteiro last time out at Portland. How to follow: All races will be available to watch on the MSV TV YouTube channel. The stream will also be shown on the GB3 Facebook page and website. Live timing for all sessions is available through TSL Timing and the GB3 website.
Weather forecast: Sunny intervals and mild temperatures expected throughout the weekend, with a minimal chance of rainfall.
What to know: Brands Hatch hosts the sixth GB3 round of 2025, and for the first time in the circuit’s history, it will feature drag reduction system (DRS) zones.
The longer of the two DRS zones runs from the exit of Surtees through Pilgrim’s Drop, closing before the cars reach Hawthorn Bend. The second, much shorter zone begins out of Clark Curve and ends at the start/finish line.
With three rounds to go in the GB3 season, Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic leads the drivers’ championship by 39 points from Xcel Motorsport’s Patrick Heuzenroeder. Ninovic’s teammate Gianmarco Pradel completes an all-Australian top three, a further seven points back.
Behind them, there is a tight battle for fourth place, with Keanu Al Azhari, Will Macintyre, Noah Lisle, Deagen Fairclough and Reza Seewooruthun all separated by just 18 points. Both Lisle and Fairclough come into the weekend searching for their first victories in GB3.
A total of 21 drivers are set to take part at Brands Hatch this weekend. Hitech will compete with a full three-car lineup for the first time since Spa-Francorchamps, as American driver Nikita Johnson returns to GB3. He missed the last two rounds to compete in F3, including with Hitech themselves in the previous round at Budapest while the GB3 grid was at Silverstone. He is expected to compete in all remaining GB3 rounds.
The original Hillspeed trio of Freddie Slater, Kanato Le and Hiyu Yamakoshi return to the GB3 grid after missing both Budapest and Silverstone because of their FR Europe commitments. As a result, replacement drivers Michael Shin and Yuanpu Cui will not take part this weekend. Xcel Motorsport’s Dion Gowda, however, will not return this weekend despite not having clashing FR Europe commitments, while one-off entrant Yevan David – the first driver confirmed on the 2026 F3 grid – is also not returning.
Hugo Schwarze confirmed that the previous round at Silverstone was his final GB3 weekend of the season, and he is racing in the Le Mans Cup at Spa this weekend. His seat at VRD Racing will be filled by Rodrigo Gonzalez, who leaves Chris Dittmann Racing after just one round to join his younger brother, Patricio Gonzalez, at the team. The second CDR car driven by Nicolas Stati will also be absent following his cameo appearance at Silverstone.
Argenti with Prema have named only a two-car lineup for this round. August Raber is absent this weekend, having made his GB3 debut in the previous round, but Feeder Series understands he is expected to return for the next round at Donington Park. JHR Developments will not run Divy Nandan this weekend, reducing their line-up to two drivers as well.

From the press: With just three rounds to go, Keanu Al Azhari enters the closing stages of the 2025 GB3 season in a strong run of form. The Hitech driver has taken four podiums in his last six races, including his first win in the series at Silverstone last time out, and moved up to fourth in the standings. Read what he had to say about his surprise title charge here.

GB4: Round 6, Brands Hatch
Circuit: Brands Hatch GP, 3.916 km
Schedule: All times local (UTC+1)
Friday 22 August (Indy layout)
- 10:00–10:25: Test session 1
- 12:30–12:55: Test session 2
- 15:45–16:10: Test session 3
Saturday 23 August
- 13:30–13:45: Qualifying
- 17:00–17:18: Race 1
Sunday 24 August
- 10:25–10:43: Race 2
- 17:25–17:43: Race 3
How to follow: All races will be available to watch on the MSV TV YouTube channel. The stream will also be shown on the GB4 Facebook page and website. Live timing for all sessions is available through TSL Timing and the GB3 website.
Weather forecast: Sunny intervals and mild temperatures expected throughout the weekend, with a minimal chance of rainfall.
What to know: Just two rounds remain in the 2025 GB4 Championship, and the battle for the drivers’ championship has effectively become a three-horse race. Hillspeed’s Daniel Guinchard currently leads the way on 293 points, but he faces an all-Elite Motorsport challenge from behind.
Ary Bansal leads the chase on 258 points, just eight ahead of teammate Isaac Phelps. The third Elite driver, Alexandros Kattoulas, is in fourth, but he fell away from the immediate title fight at Silverstone and now languishes a further 22 points behind Phelps.
Brands Hatch presents the first opportunity for Guinchard to wrap up the title, but he will need some good fortune for that to happen. If the 19-year-old finishes the weekend with a lead of 103 points or more, it will be mathematically impossible for him to be caught in the season finale at Donington Park.
A grid of 23 drivers will take part this weekend, with a few driver movements of note. Flame Airikkala has left Pace Performance to join Hillspeed for the final two rounds of the 2025 season. The Finnish 18-year-old competed with Pace in the previous two rounds, having joined the championship mid-season. Her best race finish so far is 15th.
At Douglas Motorsport, Luke Hilton returns to the grid after being absent for the Silverstone round. He joins the field in place of 15-year-old Arjen Kräling, who impressed with a podium and a fifth place in his debut GB4 weekend.
The entire Graham Brunton Racing squad will be absent this weekend, with Mayer Deonarine and Callum Baxter both not racing at Brands Hatch. Their teammate, Alex Berg, will also not return to racing action this round, having not taken part at Silverstone three weeks ago. Feeder Series understands that Deonarine, who already missed Snetterton, is absent because of budget issues. Canada’s Baxter was recently announced to be racing in FR Americas’ Mosport round next weekend with Atlantic Racing Team.
Report by George Sanderson

From the press: Fortec Motorsport secured their first one-two finish in GB4 since the series began in 2022 at Silverstone, with Jack Taylor winning race one ahead of Thomas Ingram Hill. Both drivers, as well as race three winner Stefan Bostandjiev, spoke to Feeder Series about their improvements in form ahead of Brands Hatch. Read their thoughts here.

How to follow: Every race will be streamed live on F4 CEZ’s YouTube channel. Live timing for all sessions will be available through Speedhive.
Weather forecast: Light rain possible Friday. Partly cloudy conditions on Saturday will turn to mostly sunny skies on Sunday.
What to know: Nearly a month since the fourth round at Most, F4 CEZ returns to action at the Slovakia Ring for its second-to-last round of the season.
Having won the first two races last time out at Most, Gino Trappa sits on top of the standings on 237 points, 54 ahead of nearest rival and Jenzer teammate Max Karhan, who finished on the podium in all three races. With 75 points on offer this weekend, the Argentine can win the title this weekend if he outscores Karhan by 22 points.
Maffi Racing’s David Walther is third in points, 70 behind Karhan, after finishing no higher than fifth at Most. Fourteen points behind Walther is Nicolás Cortés, who finished the first two races in second place to close in on the Dane. Six points further behind Cortés is fellow Mexican and Jenzer teammate Javier Herrera, who took his maiden single-seater win in race three last time out and currently sits fifth in the standings.
Walther won’t be able to fend off the Jenzer duo this weekend, however, as he is missing from this weekend’s entry list. So too is Tomáš Chabr, who took a best result of 13th in his debut round last time out.
While Walther will miss this round, Maffi Racing will expand to five cars as Kirill Kutskov and Igor Polak join the team for this round. Seventeen-year-old Kutskov, the runner-up in last year’s edition of the series, currently races for Maffi in Italian F4, whereas Polak is making his single-seater debut. The 16-year-old from Poland comes off a career in rental karts, winning the 2024 Rental Kart World Contest in the junior class.
Also joining the grid is F1 Academy rookie Nicole Havrda, who will compete in the final two rounds of the season for JMT Racing’s single-car operation. Macedonian Stefan Treneski will also make his single-seater debut this weekend for Janík Motorsport as a late addition to the grid on Thursday. The 17-year-old was the winner of the F4 CEZ Academy programme in March.
On Friday morning, Matúš Ryba’s management team, ProRacing Motorsport, announced his participation in his home F4 CEZ round, though without naming a team at the time of publication. The 16-year-old’s main campaign is with Campos Racing in Spanish F4, in which he sits 14th with two points finishes so far.

How to follow: All races are live-streamed and free to watch with Japanese commentary on the series’ official YouTube channel. Within Japan and broader Australasia, live timing is available on the Super GT race app for €6.91.
Weather forecast: Partly cloudy on all days with no rain expected. Temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 34ºC every day.
What to know: Japanese F4 enters its third round of the season at Suzuka this weekend, its first one outside Fuji.
Kageyama Racing’s Itsuki Sato took both wins in the second round at Fuji and snatched the championship lead away from Toyota junior Tokiya Suzuki, who only scored six points all weekend.
This weekend’s round on a new circuit could reshuffle the grid. The change of scenery will naturally threaten Kageyama’s streak of four race wins, while Honda juniors Kotaro Shimbara and Syo Momose are expected to make steps forward on the Honda-owned circuit.
There are two driver changes in the Champion Class. Chinese driver Lin Chenghua and his team Ragno Motor Sport have left the championship after facing engine issues in the opening two rounds that they could not resolve, as Lin revealed to Feeder Series.
Buzz Racing field Aoto Nagahara as their first driver in the Champion Class this year as he takes over the #7 machine previously raced by Independent Class driver Hitoshi Sakai in the opening round. Nagahara, 22, made his debut in the championship in 2023, when he competed with Akiland Racing in the sixth round at Autopolis and came 38th and 23rd in the weekend’s two races.
Report by Finjo Muschlien

From the press: Lin’s decision to leave Japanese F4 is not the first unexpected twist in his racing journey. From forming a relationship with former F1 test driver Ma Qinghua in 2021 to quitting touring cars for single-seaters over the winter of 2024, the 28-year-old has often defied convention in his pursuit of challenge. Read more about his career here.
