Feeder Series weekend preview and schedule: 03–05 October

Two more junior single-seater championship titles will be decided in the United Kingdom this weekend as drivers look to set themselves up for success in the other series upcoming finales. Feeder Series tells you all about what’s to come.

By Feeder Series

Formula 1 heads to Singapore as the European racing season winds down, and F1 Academy will be there to support it for the second consecutive season. For the first time in its history, the series will feature a mid-year driver change as GB4 competitor Megan Bruce steps in at Hitech for Aiva Anagnostiadis, who is recovering from a fracture to her foot sustained in training.

Bruce’s absence shakes up the battle for the £50,000 F1 Academy scholarship prize to be awarded to the top female driver in GB4 this year, a battle she currently leads. MotorSport’s entry-level series holds its final round of the season at Donington Park alongside GB3, which will race once more in October in Monza. British F4 will also round out its season this weekend at Brands Hatch alongside the British Touring Car Championship.

Also on the agenda this weekend are the FRegional European Championship, which heads to its penultimate round in Hockenheim with its top two drivers – future Trident F3 teammates Freddie Slater and Matteo De Palo – level on points. That couldn’t be more different from the championship picture in Brazilian F4, in which leader Heitor Dall’Agnol has more than twice the points of all bar three drivers as the series crosses the halfway mark at Velocitta.

While not covered in depth in this report, Indian F4 is also racing this weekend at Kari Motor Speedway, and the new entries include Japanese F4 points leader Itsuki Sato. Keep reading to find out more about what’s at stake in the above championships.

What to know: F1 Academy heads to Singapore for its penultimate round of the season. Doriane Pin leads the championship standings with 127 points, followed by Maya Weug with 107 and Chloe Chambers with 93. Both Pin and Weug stood on the podium twice last year in Singapore, with Pin finishing third and Weug finishing second in both races.

Hitech’s Aiva Anagnostiadis will be absent from the round in Singapore after fracturing her foot. She will be replaced by Megan Bruce, who is currently competing in GB4 with KMR Sport. Bruce is currently 16th in the standings, with a best finish of fourth at Oulton Park.

The wild card driver for this round will be Lisa Billard, who most recently raced in French F4. The Iron Dames–supported driver finished 19th overall in the championship standings and won the series’ women’s trophy. Billard also participated in the F1 Academy rookie test, which took place at the Circuito de Navarra. She set the second-fastest time in the morning session and the fourth-fastest time in the afternoon session.

What to know: The 2025 FR Europe grid heads to the Hockenheimring for the penultimate round of the season, and the fight for the championship is still wide open with the top four drivers equal on points in pairs.

Freddie Slater and Matteo De Palo share the top spot of the standings, both sitting at 226 points after the Barcelona weekend. The Englishman, however, has a slight advantage, as he has clinched five wins to the Rome native’s four.

Also tied on points are third- and fourth-placed Enzo Deligny and Pedro Clerot. While the Frenchman had to endure a retirement in race one last time out before taking victory in race two, the Brazilian racer stood on the podium on both occasions. He is, however, one victory short of Deligny’s total of three.

This weekend’s new additions to the FR Europe grid are Kacper Sztuka and James Egozi, who will join forces with RPM in place of Macéo Capietto and Santiago Ramos. The Polish driver has already competed in the series twice this year in G4 Racing’s colours, claiming best finishes of 13th in race two at Misano and race one in Imola. Miami native Egozi will make his series debut, with his primary campaign being Eurocup-3, in which he currently sits seventh with one win.

Enea Frey will return to CL Motorsport for his second race of the season. He previously competed in Spielberg, but medical advice ruled him out of driving in Barcelona. Fellow Italian F4 competitor Zhenrui Chi will return to the team as well, having last driven in Spielberg.

Weather forecast: Heavy rain and winds of up to 45 kilometres per hour expected Friday and Saturday. Cloudy with sunny intervals predicted Sunday.

What to know: The penultimate round of the 2025 GB3 season takes place at Donington Park, with Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic leading the drivers’ championship by 71 points. The 18-year-old can wrap up the title with a round to spare this weekend, but only if he leaves Donington with a lead of 103 points.

Ninovic’s closest challengers are fellow Australians Patrick Heuzenroeder and Gianmarco Pradel. Ninovic begins the weekend on 362 points, with Xcel Motorsport’s Heuzenroeder on 291 and Rodin teammate Pradel on 276. Mathematically, 10 drivers could still win the title, but only the top three are within 100 points of Ninovic heading to Donington.

This weekend will be the first time that the Donington Park circuit will feature drag-reduction system zones outside of testing. Two DRS zones have been selected, one on the start/finish straight and the other on Starkey’s Straight towards the Esses.

There are a number of driver changes heading into the penultimate round. Elite Motorsport’s Will Macintyre, 18, announced on 17 September that he had been diagnosed with both brain and lung cancer and would not be racing ‘for the foreseeable future’. Everyone at Feeder Series continues to wish Will all the best in his recovery.

The Hillspeed trio of Freddie Slater, Kanato Le and Hiyu Yamakoshi will be absent for the remainder of the season because of their FR Europe commitments. At Hitech, Nikita Johnson, who recently signed for Cape Motorsports’ Indy NXT team, has also been confirmed as being absent for this round.

Stepping in at Hillspeed for the remaining two rounds is Mallorca-born 16-year-old Lucas Fluxá, who joins from Argenti with Prema. Xcel, meanwhile, have turned to Alpine Academy driver Kabir Anurag to replace FR Europe–bound Dion Gowda for the rest of the season. The 18-year-old from Singapore is competing in Italian F4 and sister series E4 and is currently 14th and seventh respectively in the drivers’ standings.

Joining Anurag from Italian F4 will be Bart Harrison, who was confirmed to be completing JHR Development’s three-car lineup for the rest of the season several weeks ago. The Briton is 16th in the drivers’ standings, with a best finish of third at Monza. He is also 17th in E4 after having missed the second round, which followed his GB3 seat announcement.

Fortec Motorsport will return to the grid for the first time since round three, with Liam McNeilly making his GB3 debut. The 19-year-old began the year in the USF2000 Championship, competing in the first five races and winning them all before encountering visa issues that forced him to end his campaign early. He made a cameo in the USF Pro 2000 round in Toronto, finishing both races inside the top five. In 2023, he finished third in the GB4 Championship, winning two races and taking eight further podiums.

Max Taylor will return to the GB3 Championship for the Donington Park weekend, competing with British single-seater newcomers Race Lab. The American, who turned 18 on Wednesday, also competed in the Donington Park round last season, with a best finish of 11th. This year, he finished sixth in the USF Pro 2000 Championship with one victory and three further podiums while also competing in six Indy NXT races, taking a best result of fourth and four other top-10 finishes.

  • 11:46–12:04: Race 3
  • 17:31–17:49: Race 4 (rescheduled from Brands Hatch)

How to follow: All races will be available to watch on the MSV TV YouTube channel. The stream will also be shown on the GB4 Facebook page and website. Live timing for all sessions is available through TSL Timing and the GB3 website.

Weather forecast: Heavy rain and winds of up to 45 kilometres per hour expected Friday and Saturday. Cloudy with sunny intervals predicted Sunday.

What to know: The 2025 GB4 Championship is set for a dramatic final round at Donington Park this weekend. An expanded four-race weekend will include the postponed reverse-grid race from last month’s visit to Brands Hatch alongside the regular three-race programme for the seventh round of the season.

Hillspeed’s Daniel Guinchard leads the drivers’ championship, as he has done since the sixth race of the season all the way back in late April. He begins the weekend with 341 points, with the Elite Motorsport trio of Isaac Phelps, Ary Bansal and Alexandros Kattoulas occupying the three places behind him on 320, 316 and 268 points respectively.

With a maximum of 134 points to be scored this weekend, there is realistically a three-way title showdown between Guinchard, Phelps and Bansal, who locked out both podiums at Brands Hatch. Mathematically, any of the top nine could clinch the title, but just a single point scored by Guinchard would immediately rule out three drivers.

A total of 24 drivers are expected to compete this weekend, with several driver changes compared to the previous round.

Megan Bruce will miss the season finale after she was called up to replace the injured Aiva Anagnostiadis in the Tag Heuer–branded Hitech car in the F1 Academy round at Singapore. The KMR Sport driver currently leads Arden Motorsport’s Ava Dobson in the battle for the €50,000 prize contribution towards a 2026 F1 Academy seat, given to the highest-classified female driver in the final points standings.

Replacing Bruce at KMR is 15-year-old Lewis Wherrell, who made his car racing debut in Spanish F4 in September. The Briton was first in the FIA International Karting Ranking in 2023, having raced in karts since he was five years old. He has tested the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 in recent months.

Graham Brunton Racing will not feature in the season finale, as they are without all three of their drivers for a second consecutive round. Alex Berg and Mayer Deonarine continue to experience budget issues, whilst Callum Baxter is absent again after having tested for FR Americas during the previous round.

Luke Hilton is missing from Douglas Motorsport for the final round of the season, with Lucas Blakeley making a surprise return to the championship. The 24-year-old competed in four rounds last season for KMR Sport, taking four wins and five further podiums on his way to a fifth-place finish in the drivers’ standings.

John O’Donnell completes Pace Performance’s three-car lineup for the Donington Park weekend. The 17-year-old, who was born in Korea but now lives in the United States, has been competing in the Skip Barber Race Series this year and is currently eighth in the standings.

Weather forecast: Rain on Friday. Gusty windy expected Saturday along with possible rain before drying out through the afternoon. Dry and cloudy on Sunday.

What to know: Fionn McLaughlin enters the final British F4 round at Brands Hatch with a 61.5-point lead in the overall drivers’ standings, having sealed the Rookie Cup title two rounds ago at Donington Park.

While McLaughlin leads the drivers’ championship comfortably, the battle for second is set to go down to the wire, with Virtuosi Racing’s Martin Molnár and Rodin’s Jimmy Piszcyk level on points. Chris Dittmann Racing’s Tommy Harfield, currently 37 points behind the pair, could steal a top-three finish overall based on his form in the past two rounds.

Ary Bansal’s hat-trick of class wins on the Silverstone National loop last time out secured him the Challenge Cup title even though he competed in one fewer round than nearest rivals Ella Lloyd and Charlie Edge.

Tthe other prize still up for grabs is the teams’ title. Hitech currently hold a 29.5-point lead over perennial rivals Rodin Motorsport, though the Farnham outfit have more than halved the gap over the last two rounds.

With the Challenge Cup concluded, several drivers will depart the series ahead of the final round. Ella Lloyd and Alba Larsen of Rodin and CDR respectively are absent as they head to Singapore to contest the penultimate round of the F1 Academy championship.

The Fortec duo of Ary Bansal and Thomas Ingram Hill return to Donington Park for the finale of the GB4 Championship, in which Bansal sits squarely in a three-way battle for the title. CDR’s Charlie Edge will also depart, having reached his seven-race limit in the Challenge Cup – though the Worcestershire-based driver has no more plans for the year, unlike his Challenge Cup rivals.

Guy Albag and Piotr Orzechowski both return for their third rounds in the championship, with Rodin and CDR respectively. Albag has primarily contested the Italian F4 championship, in which he sits 36th in the standings with one round to go, while Orzechowski has spent 2025 focussing on a testing programme with CDR.

How to follow: Live timing is available on Audace Tech, and races are streamed on the championship’s YouTube channel.

Weather forecast: Mostly cloudy on Friday and Saturday. Sunnier skies expected Sunday, with temperatures set to exceed 32°C.

What to know: Just a week after its third round, Brazilian F4 remains at Velocitta for round four.

Despite not winning last time out, Heitor Dall’Agnol extended his championship lead to a commanding 56 points with second-, third-, and fourth-place finishes across the three races. Though finishing within 0.053 seconds of Pedro Lima in race three was his best result on paper, arguably his strongest drive came in race one, when he recovered from a drive-through penalty for a grid box infringement to finish fourth.

The driver just 0.225 seconds ahead of him in that race was Murilo Rocha, who remains second overall with 89 points after scoring two podiums last weekend. Filippo Fiorentino closed to just five points behind Rocha after a dominant victory in race one, while Lima’s triumph from pole in race three vaulted him from eighth to fourth overall on 73 points. No driver changes are expected this weekend.
