NACAM Formula 4: 2026 season guide

The North and Central American (NACAM) Formula 4 Championship is soon to drop the green flag for its 10th championship season. The series will run seven rounds in 2026, one more than the six held in the year prior. Feeder Series gives you the rundown of what you should know about the 2026 NACAM F4 season.

By Owen White

NACAM F4 continues to operate under the Notiauto racing umbrella, as it has done since 2022. The organisation oversees many of Mexico’s top racing series, such as Copa TC2000 and TCR Mexico, and its 2026 racing package has been badged the Mexico Racing Cup.

NACAM F4 series is scheduled to take place from March to November across seven race weekends, all being hosted by Mexican circuits. Though the series has a refreshing amount of continuity from the 2025 season, there remain changes to note with regard to the calendar and line-ups.

The grid is composed of drivers with varying levels of experience in the series, from 2025’s third-place finisher Alex Bobadilla to rookies making their single-seater debuts in Puebla. Alessandros Racing and Ram Racing are once again set to be the big players for the teams’ title, though an upgraded Santinel Racing Team will also factor in the equation.

The calendar

The opening half of the schedule mirrors that of 2025, though it differs later into the summer months. The series has not scheduled a round in Panama for the 2026 season as it did in 2025 before its cancellation. Additionally, the calendar released by the series’ social media lists round four as ’AHR/Puebla’, though whether the round will be held at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez or the Autódromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed is not clear.

The other significant change to the calendar is the addition of a round in Mérida at Autódromo Yucatán, taking place in late August. The series last visited the circuit on the Yucatán Peninsula in the 2019-20 season.

  • Round 1: Autódromo Miguel E. Abed (28 February–1 March)
  • Round 2: Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (27–28 March)
  • Round 3: Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (5–6 June)
  • Round 4: Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez / Autódromo Miguel E. Abed (24–25 July)
  • Round 5: Autódromo Yucatán (22–23 August)
  • Round 6: Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (18–19 September)
  • Round 7: Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (31 October–1 November)

The format

The weekend opens with two practice sessions, each 30 minutes in length. These are followed by a 20-minute qualifying session to set the grid.

Race weekends differ in the amount of races held, but the majority will contain three races. Qualifying on Saturday will set the grid for race one, usually held Saturday afternoon. The grid for race two will be set using an inversion of the top portion of race one’s finishers, and the grid for race three will be set by the second-fastest laps from qualifying. The latter two races usually take place on Sundays.

The points system is the same as what is used in F1.

Where to watch

As in previous seasons, NACAM F4 races, when shown, will be streamed free of charge on the Notiauto Racing YouTube channel. Usually, not all races are broadcast. In prior seasons, select races were also broadcast with Italian commentary on the Parc Ferme TV YouTube channel. Live timing for all rounds can be found on Race Monitor.

Teams and drivers

After entering selected rounds in 2025, HRI Racing are absent from the grid for round one, with plans for 2026 currently unannounced.

All drivers besides Patrick Isavi and Jeray Perdomo are Mexican.

Alessandros Racing

Alessandros Racing enter 2026 off the back of a championship-winning season in 2025 for their Alessandros Silver pairing, composed of Fernando Luque and Alex Bobadilla. Once again, the team will split into multiple pairs for the upcoming season. In F4, only a team’s top two finishing cars score points towards the teams’ championship. To give themselves as many chances as possible at taking that title, Alessandros split their line-up into pairs, with each pair being given a color to distinguish itself. For 2026, these pairings are Alessandros Red and Alessandros Blue, with the Alessandros Silver team name absent for the time being. The team will also continue their technical and operational alliance with Campos Racing, which began in 2024.

Mariano Alatorre (#4) is set to contest his rookie campaign in the series as part of the Alessandros Blue pairing. Last year, Alatorre karted in Europe in the X30 Senior division of the IAME Euro Series and Winter Cup and the OK class of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. The 18-year-old Mexican driver has tested at both Mexico City and Puebla this offseason.

The highest-finishing returning driver from 2025, Alex Bobadilla (#08) will also be entered for Alessandros Blue in the season opener. Bobadilla enters with two years of experience under his belt. He scored four podiums from seven starts in the shortened 2024 season and finished fourth in the championship before taking third-place in his first full-length season in 2025 with three wins and seven total podiums. Bobadilla will also compete with Crosslink Motorsports in the 2026 FRegional Americas Championship.

Alan Zezatti (#33) joins Alessandros Racing after previously racing for Ram Racing. Entered under the Alessandros Red team, the 17-year-old will also be contesting his third season of NACAM F4 competition. In his first two seasons, Zezatti scored two podiums and a best finish of seventh in the championship in 2025. The teen is on an upward trajectory, going from no top-five finishes in the abbreviated 2024 season to seven – including the two podiums – in his first full campaign in 2025. Those results offer one reason to believe that a first F4 victory may be on the horizon for Zezatti.

Alessandros Racing’s final driver for 2026 is Mateo Girón (#26), racing for Alessandros Red. Girón spent the past three years in the NASCAR Mikel’s Truck Series as well as a season in a GTM Pro 1 machine in Súper Copa. A six-time winner and 13-time podium finisher in the NASCAR Mikel’s Truck Series last year, Girón achieved a final standing of second. He will be making his F4 debut this season but has been testing during the off-season. In addition to running in F4, the 18-year-old will contest the NASCAR Mexico Challenge with Alessandros.

Ram Racing

After a 2025 season that produced third and fourth in the teams’ championship for their full-time driver pairings and a drivers’ championship for Zaky Ibrahim, Ram Racing are bringing a line-up consisting of three debutants and two drivers who completed a combined four rounds over the final three rounds in 2025.

Fernando Rivera (#16) is set to start his first full campaign in the series after competing in the final three rounds of the 2025 season, in which he scored a best finish of second. He will compete in NACAM F4 alongside an F4 US programme with Crosslink Motorsports.

Oliver Trejo (#90) made his series debut at the penultimate round of the 2025 season in Puebla, finishing with a best result of seventh. The 15-year-old spent most of 2025 in karting, finishing sixth in SKUSA Mexico’s X30 Senior class, alongside an extensive F4 testing programme.

Emilio Martínez (#57) will also be making his series debut in the 2026 season opener in Puebla. Martinez was another entrant in the SKUSA Mexico championship’s X30 Senior class, competing in the final two rounds of the season.

Just days before the opening round of the season, Patrick Isavi (#91) was also announced to be joining Ram Racing. The California-based Armenian driver has been testing cars with Ram for more than six months in preparation for his rookie F4 season.

Jeray Perdomo is the fifth and final driver announced for a Ram Racing seat in 2026, though he is not competing in round one as he is not yet old enough. The 14-year-old Honduran, a single-seater newcomer, stepped up from the X30 Novatos to the X30 Junior class partway through 2025. He was also announced to be doing a test day with Scuderia Buell, who race on the Parella ladder in the United States.

Santinel Race Team

After running a single car in 2025, the Santinel Race Team outfit are back to being a three-car operation for the 2026 season. With more entries at their disposal, they will aim to improve upon a 2025 campaign in which they took one victory and five further podiums with Marco Alquicira.

Three-time NACAM F4 race winner Marco Alquicira (#7) begins his fourth season in the series with the team. The 20-year-old returns off the back of a 2025 season that included a victory in the final race of round four of the championship in Mexico City. He ultimately took a fifth-place finish in the standings despite the fact he missed two rounds and did not start any of the races in a third event.

José Carlos Lezama (#15), a recent graduate of the karting ranks, is set to make his F4 debut with Santinel. The 18-year-old most recently competed in the X30 Senior class in Mexico.

Agustín Herrera Hernández (#14)  will fill the team’s final car. Hernández will be a rookie in 2026, though at age 27 he is older than most of his fellow series first-timers.

RRK Motorsports

After entering only the final round of the 2025 season, RRK Motorsports will run their 2026 campaign with one entry. The team has not completed a full season in the championship since 2022, when they won on two occasions with Manuel Roza.

Moisés Zagursky (#53) will make his return to the championship after a two-year hiatus. The 20-year-old last competed in single-seaters in the 2023 championship, scoring three top-five finishes en route to eighth overall.
