Two of the standout drivers in the opening rounds of Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 have found their way to the F1 Feeder Series Podcast this week! Hitech GP driver Jüri Vips got a podium and took third in the standings. FIA F3 rookie Van Amersfoort Racing Franco Colapinto surprised the paddock by taking pole position on his (and his team’s!) debut.

Being in his second year of Formula 2 and being part of one of no less than five Red Bull Juniors, the pressure is on for Jüri Vips. He was on the pace in Bahrain and although he could’ve scored more points, he’s now third in the championship. And that’s a better start than last year, when he had three non-points finishes.
Franco Colapinto had a debut Qualifying that you can normally only dream of. Taking pole position with Van Amersfoort Racing, the Dutch team that is back in F3 since competing in the final year of European F3 in 2018, was an amazing display of raw speed and preparation. For an 18-year-old the Argentinian has quite a resume: Spanish F4 champion, 3rd in the Eurocup and TRS and even taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

We talked to them about the season opener at Bahrain, life as a Red Bull driver for Vips (and his relationship with Max Verstappen), the pressure of a nation on the shoulders for Colapinto, Helmut Marko stories and way more.
