2022 is complete! The Formula 2 Abu Dhabi finale thrilled feeder series fans, and we’re here to thrill some more with Théo Pourchaire and Zane Maloney joining the F1 Feeder Series Podcast.
By Floris Visman
Theo Pourchaire might not have reached his goal of winning the Formula 2 championship in 2022 (he finished runner-up to Felipe Drugovich), he did enjoy a lot of success. Still only 19 years old, he’s not only made his Formula 1 FP1 debut with Alfa Romeo, he was also promoted to reserve driver for 2023. This week he participated in the F1 Young Driver Test with the team as well as the F2 post-season test with his team ART GP. His plans for 2023 are still unsure, although he’s rumoured to do another year in F2.
Like Pourchaire, Zane Maloney also finished runner-up in a championship. The Boy from Barbados as he’s often referred to, had an amazing rookie season in FIA F3 that really came alive after the Red Bull Ring. With five rounds behing him and just four to go, he went on to turn his form around, win three races and finish just five points off championship winner Victor Martins. As he tells us on the F1 Feeder Series Podcast, he has already signed a contract with a team in F2. And while he won’t say which team, the rumours are it’s Carlin.
