Formula 1 and its support series, F2 and F3, return this weekend for the Belgian Grand Prix as Indy NXT, British F4, F4 CEZ and USF Juniors also stage events. Read on to find out how to follow each one.
By Feeder Series
The frenetic early summer for F1, F2 and F3 is finally nearing its conclusion. The Belgian Grand Prix this weekend marks the beginning of the F1 season’s second half, while for F2 and F3, this round and next weekend’s event at the Hungaroring will prove pivotal for determining who comes out on top in their respective title fights.
A few hours to the north in the Netherlands, British F4 stages its only round in mainland Europe this season at Zandvoort alongside various Caterham championships. Heavy rain on Monday had led wet sand and gravel to spill onto the racing surface, but the F1 Academy tests at the track Tuesday and Wednesday proceeded without incident.
Rain is also a risk for F4 CEZ’s round at Most in northwestern Czechia and USF Juniors’ standalone event at Road America, which will run from Thursday through Saturday morning. Clear skies are expected for Indy NXT’s Laguna Seca doubleheader out west held in support of the IndyCar event out there.
As for other racing action this weekend, Formula E stages its final round of its 2024–25 season in London. While the drivers’ championship has been decided in favour of Oliver Rowland, second place is still up for grabs, and 2024 F2 graduate Taylor Barnard in third is just 13 points away from Pascal Wehrlein in that battle. Editor Seb Tirado will be in the paddock this weekend keeping an eye on the storylines that emerge.

What to know: F2 returns after two weekends away for its ninth round of the season in Spa.
In Silverstone, Richard Verschoor’s 24-point championship lead shrank to just six points over Jak Crawford after the American controlled a rainy feature race. The pair each took a podium in Spa last year, Verschoor in the sprint race and Crawford in the feature race.
Alex Dunne, who bounced back from his Austria disqualification with a second-place finish in the Silverstone feature race, is another eight points back. Bolstered by their own Silverstone podiums, Leonardo Fornaroli and Luke Browning also moved within 25 points of the championship lead.
Like Silverstone, Spa is predicted to be wet, with rain on the radar for Sunday. Last year’s sprint race at Spa was red flagged after just seven laps because of rain. All drivers who competed at Silverstone are returning this weekend.

From the press: Victor Martins was expected to battle fellow F2 veterans Crawford and Verschoor for the F2 title; instead, he’s ninth overall with only one podium despite a stellar qualifying record. Martins sat down with us in Silverstone to outline the hurdles he’s faced in 2025 as well as the opportunities awaiting him as a Williams junior. Read the article here.
Through the VictoryLane agency he founded, Martins oversees the career of F2 rookie Sami Meguetounif, currently racing for Trident. The young Frenchman also sat down with us in Silverstone to discuss his turbulent rookie season, one punctuated by missed opportunities and a spectacular crash at Spielberg. Hear Meguetounif’s thoughts here.

How to follow: All sessions will be live-streamed on F1 TV, but fans can also follow them live via the series’ live timing service. Local viewing information can be found here.
Weather forecast: Rain possible throughout the entire weekend, mostly Friday and Sunday. Cool temperatures between 13ºC and 22ºC expected.
What to know: Formula 3 also comes to Spa for round eight of its 10-round 2025 season.
After rain affected the previous round in Silverstone, variable weather could once again play a big part at the legendary 7.004-kilometre circuit, as it has done in the past. In 2023, Jenzer took what ultimately was their last F3 win with Taylor Barnard in treacherous conditions. In last year’s Belgian round, Callum Voisin secured his maiden F3 victory while also taking both pole and the fastest lap.
The top three in the drivers’ championship only scored five points in Silverstone, opening the door for others to slide in and make a late charge for the title. Mari Boya capitalised on the opportunity and took his first win of the season on Sunday, and he now sits just 35 points away from leader Rafael Câmara.
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps will also welcome current FRegional Europe points leader Freddie Slater back to the paddock after the Englishman competed with AIX Racing in Bahrain. This time, the 16-year-old will race with Hitech on a track where he wowed everyone earlier this year with a last-to-first win in GB3 in tricky weather conditions. Slater replaces Hitech GB3 regular Nikita Johnson, who raced for the team last time out at Silverstone.

- 15:35–16:00: Practice 2

Fox Sports 1 will carry qualifying and race two. Live timing for all sessions is available on the IndyCar website.
Weather forecast: Partly cloudy all weekend.
What to know: Indy NXT holds its 10th and 11th races of its 14-race 2025 season this weekend at Laguna Seca, home to the second doubleheader of the season.
Andretti Global drivers have won all but one of the Indy NXT races held at the circuit in the last four years. For two of their current crop, the timing of the event could not be more critical.
Dennis Hauger now has a 76-point lead bolstered by a second-place finish in Iowa, where chief title rival Lochie Hughes came home 16th after receiving a drive-through penalty for blocking eventual winner Myles Rowe. Hauger could place one hand on the title with two solid finishes; if Hughes wants to defeat his Andretti Global teammate in the long run, his mandate is to win. Caio Collet, now just 18 points back, rounds out the top three.
HMD’s lineup this weekend features the returning Liam Sceats, who missed out on the Mid-Ohio and Iowa rounds as well as Gateway in June. The New Zealander thus fell to 16th in points. There will be no replacement for ovals-only driver Davey Hamilton in HMD’s #24 car this weekend.

What to know: Following a nearly two-month gap since the Salzburg round, F4 CEZ returns to action at Most for the fourth round of the season.
Jenzer Motorsport’s Max Karhan won the first two races of the Salzburgring round to eat into his teammate Gino Trappa’s advantage in the standings. The Argentine, who finished second in both races, concluded the weekend with a win ahead of Karhan to enter Most with a 42-point lead over his teammate.
While the Jenzer duo locked out the first two positions on the podium in all three races, three different drivers stood on the podium alongside them during the weekend. One of them was David Walther, who took his fourth podium of the season in race three to consolidate his third-place championship position. Also finishing third during the weekend were Nicolas Cortés and Simon Schranz, who took their first podiums of the season in races one and two respectively.
Janik Motorsport’s Romuald Bocquet will return to the series after a one-round absence precipitated by breaking his thumb in an accident in the final Red Bull Ring race in May. JMT Racing’s Roman Roubíček, who did not turn any laps last time out, is not present on this round’s entry list.
A last-minute addition to the entry list was Tomáš Chabr, who will partner František Němec in F4 CEZ Academy’s two-car operation. Chabr last raced part-time in both the Italian and Austrian F2000 series in 2023 for his own team, taking a best overall result of 10th in the final race of the Italian series at Misano.
Report by Marco Albertini
From the press: Trappa, Karhan and Cortés have been commanding the attention from within Jenzer Motorsport’s squad across the 2025 season, but another rookie has been making quiet progress. Feeder Series caught up with Mexico’s Javier Herrera to hear about his first full season in cars and his recent Italian F4 cameo. Read what he said here.

British F4: Round 6, Zandvoort
Circuit: Circuit Zandvoort, 4.259 km
Schedule: All times local (UTC+2)
Friday 25 July
- 08:30–09:15: Practice 1
- 12:35–13:20: Practice 2
Saturday 26 July
- 09:30–09:55: Qualifying
- 14:00–14:20: Race 1
Sunday 27 July
- 10:10–10:30: Race 2
- 14:35–15:00: Race 3
How to follow: All three races will be broadcast live on the British F4 YouTube channel. Live timing for all sessions will be available at getraceresults.com.
Weather forecast: Partly cloudy across the weekend, with light showers forecast Sunday.
What to know: The British F4 championship battle remains close heading into the second half of the season, with Fionn McLaughlin and Martin Molnár separated by merely 5.5 points at the top of the standings.
Despite struggles during the non-championship round at the British Grand Prix, Henry Joslyn has finished on the podium in every non-reverse-grid race since Snetterton. If this form carries forward, the Fortec Motorsport driver could challenge Jimmy Piszcyk, currently 14 points ahead of him, for third in the championship this weekend.
One driver who will hope to emulate his performance at the British GP round is Rowan Campbell-Pilling, who challenged for podium positions across the weekend for the first time this season. A suspension failure forced the JHR Developments driver out of race one shortly after he took the lead, while he finished fourth in race two.
There are a host of driver changes for this weekend, the series’ only round outside the United Kingdom. Joel Bergström will once again not take part this weekend, having already missed the round at Oulton Park. The reason for his absence is unclear. Bergström also had to pull out of the series midway through the season last year because of issues with financial backing.
Also departing the championship is Leo Robinson, currently ninth in the standings. Hitech said Robinson had ‘taken the decision to step away from the campaign’. Taking his place at the team this weekend will be Nina Gademan, who returned to the series with the Silverstone outfit for the British Grand Prix round three weeks ago after racing with them in the Formula Winter Series earlier this year.
Charlie Edge returns to the series to continue his Challenge Cup campaign with Chris Dittmann Racing. He currently sits second in the Challenge Cup standings, behind teammate Tommy Harfield.
JHR’s Esmee Kosterman, Rodin Motorsport’s Chloe Chong and Fortec’s Thomas Ingram Hill also re-join the series, having each made at least one appearance in a championship round in the first half of the season.
Emma Felbermayr will make her British F4 debut at Zandvoort with Virtuosi ahead of F1 Academy’s visit to the Dutch circuit in a month’s time. She will be partnered by Molnár and Oleksandr Savinkov, who will be staying with the team after debuting at the non-championship round last time out.
Lastly, Arjen Kräling will be making his F4 debut with Argenti, having been announced back in April. Kräling was forced to miss the first half of the season because he was below the minimum age requirement for the series, having only turned 15 today, 24 July.

Weather forecast: Partly sunny all weekend, with showers possibleThursday and Saturday.
What to know: USF Juniors heads to Road America for its second-to-last round of the season.
Three weeks ago at Mid-Ohio, Leonardo Escorpioni won race one and finished third the next day to grow his lead in the standings to 24 points ahead of fellow Brazilian João Vergara, who finished second in both.
But the Brazilians didn’t have the edge at the start of the weekend, as they were beaten to pole for both races by Zanella Racing’s Ty Fisher. After falling to third in race one, Fisher led all 20 laps of race two to win on track before a post-race disqualification for a technical infringement handed the win to Liam Loiacono.
With that victory, Loiacono now sits third in points, 19 behind Vergara. He is tied with Oliver Wheldon and four ahead of Fisher, who fell from second to fifth in points following his disqualification.
Jay Howard Driver Development will downsize to two cars as Chase Fernandez will vacate the seat ahead of this weekend to resume his British F4 campaign. Elsewhere, Floridians Colin Aitken and Rahim Alibhai will join VRD Racing and Zanella Racing respectively for the remaining two rounds of the season. Seventeen-year-old Aitken’s prior single-seater experience consists of the final round of the 2023 Skip Barber Formula Race Series, while karting graduate Alibhai, 15, has been testing for Zanella but has yet to race for the team.
