Formula Regional Europe and Indy NXT headline this weekend’s junior single-seater action as both championships reach their midpoint, while six other series race at a variety of legendary tracks around the world. Feeder Series previews a sizzling weekend of motorsport.
By Feeder Series
The summer solstice has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere with some of the hottest temperatures we will see all year. The mercury will reach 35ºC at Monza, which hosts FR Europe and Italian F4, and climb as high as 39ºC at Aragón, where Spanish F4 will race. They’re conditions that will prove demanding for even the fittest of athletes.
Monza and Aragón may feature the hottest temperatures, but all venues are likely to feature red-hot action in their junior single-seater races. This historic quintet of tracks also includes the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, where French F4 will hold its only round outside of France; Road America, where Indy NXT, USF Pro 2000 and USF2000 will race; and Indianapolis, which will bring FR Americas to its road course.
There were originally 11 championships set to race this weekend, but Brazilian F4’s Cuiabá round was removed from the calendar, while the Racing America championships’ annual visit to Mid-Ohio switched places with the Indianapolis round featuring only FR Americas. With eight series on the agenda this weekend, we’ll have one slightly longer article to review all of the weekend’s racing.

What to know: FR Europe heads to Monza for round four in what will mark the season’s halfway point.
Championship leader Rashid Al Dhaheri holds on by one point over Sebastian Wheldon. The Emirati will hope to control the narrative for the rest of the year, as fellow contenders Kean Nakamura-Berta and Reno Francot look to flip the script at the Temple of Speed.
Francot – now fourth in the standings and 24 points behind Al Dhaheri – is most at risk of decoupling from his title rivals after a catastrophic scoreless weekend at Spa.
Seeking to rip up the script entirely, however, will be rookies Alexandre Munoz and Emanuele Olivieri. The former rocketed to his first victory in Spa after securing pole position for race one. Olivieri’s consistency, meanwhile, leaves him sixth in the standings, and a win could easily hoist the Italian into an even stronger position for the rest of his campaign.
Eurocup-3 driver Thomas Strauven vacates his seat at CL Motorsport after two rounds, making way for Kyuho Lee (#42). The South Korean driver is currently racing in GB3, in which he sits 12th in the standings having secured a best finish of sixth in race two at the season opener. The 17-year-old primarily raced in Spanish F4 in 2025.

What to know: Italian F4 is heading to the Temple of Speed for its third round of the season after a thrilling round in Vallelunga last month.
The Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi hosted the second round of the 2026 season, and Finnish driver Luka Sammalisto dominated. He won three races that weekend, jumping up to the runner-up place in the drivers’ championship. Only six points separate him from leader Alp Aksoy, with David Cosma Cristofor trailing Aksoy by 23 points.
This round will set a new attendance record, with 49 drivers expected to race over the weekend. Many new faces will appear this time, as well as returning drivers.
First of all, all the drivers who missed the last round because of F1 Academy’s Montréal round are coming back to Monza. Former F1 Academy championship leader Emma Felbermayr (#60) returns to PHM Racing, Mercedes junior Payton Westcott (#35) returns to R-ace GP, and Rafaela Ferreira (#38) returns to Cram Motorsport.
Second, three teams feature driver line-ups because of injuries. Nacho Díaz (#55) will be replacing the injured Thiago Palotini at Alpha 54 Racing for this round. The 17-year-old Argentine is currently competing in Brazilian F4, in which he earned a podium on debut and stands third in the championship.
Seventeen-year-old Dutch driver Rosanne Den Drijver (#80) will join Maffi Racing, replacing another injured driver, Igor Polak. She is currently competing in Nordic 4, having achieved two podiums and one win to sit fifth in the standings.
Over at PHM Racing, Alexander Chartier (#81) is expected to return after a hand injury sustained in the season opener.
Third, two teams will be home to new faces altogether. Sixteen-year-old Australian driver George Proudford-Nalder (#66) joins AKM Motorsport, coming from British F4. He currently sits seventh in the standings with a win in the final race of the most recent Silverstone round.
Cram Motorsport will also field another car, with 17-year-old driver Simon Rechenmacher (#36) behind the wheel. The German driver is competing in F4 CEZ with three podiums and one win in race two of the Slovakia Ring round. He currently sits fifth in the standings.
Finally, a new team will appear on the grid in the form of Zengő Motorsport, with 16-year-old Hungarian driver Benett Gáspár (#85) in the cockpit. He currently stands 21st in F4 CEZ with a best result of 10th place. Gáspár and Zengő also appeared in the opening round of the E4 Championship last year, with a best result of 17th.
To conclude, two additional drivers will not be present, nor will they be replaced: Artem Severiukhin and Ginevra Panzeri. The latter is missing the Monza round because of her commitments in French F4, in which she earned a best result of sixth in Dijon-Prenois last month.

Weather forecast: Scorching and partly sunny all weekend, with temperatures as high as 39°C on Sunday.
What to know: Fine margins separate the top three in the drivers’ championship ahead of Spanish F4’s final weekend before a two-month break.
Leading the MP Motorsport 1-2-3 is Rocco Coronel on 78 points after he took a best finish of third last time out at Portimão. Six points back is race three winner Kasper Schormans, who in turn sits a single point ahead of Borys Łyżeń. The Polish driver won the other two races in Portugal, momentarily taking the lead of the championship after the latter.
When the grid visited Aragón for the winter series finale, eight different drivers finished on the podium. Coronel was the only driver to stand on the podium twice, whilst Schormans was the only member of the leading trio to win a race. The other two races were won by Vivek Kanthan and Andrej Petrović, who are currently sixth and ninth in the standings respectively.
Rahim Alibhai and Andre Rodriguez will be competing in FR Europe and Italian F4 respectively in Monza this weekend. As such, Alibhai’s Monlau Motorsport car will be occupied by Yuzuki Sato (#11), and single-seater debutant Juste Mulder (#27) will occupy the Japanese driver’s vacated car at the team. GRS Team driver Rodriguez will be replaced by Ryusho Nakazato (#96).
Mulder, who turned 15 last week, previously competed in multiple karting categories across Europe. The Dutch driver notably finished second in the IAME Warriors Final’s X30 Junior category in Valencia last November. Nakazato, 17, is currently 17th in the Japanese F4 standings with Kageyama Racing, having taken a best result so far of eighth. The Japanese driver also finished 36th in UAE4 with Pinnacle Motorsport with a best result of 19th.
Nakazato is not the only substitute at GRS this weekend. Yani Stevenheydens (#74) will replace Pablo Riccobono Bello, who is recovering from a wrist injury sustained at Portimão. Stevenheydens previously competed in the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship for the team, finishing 14th with a best finish of fifth. The 20-year-old Belgian driver is currently competing in the GT4 European Series’ Silver Cup with Elite Motorsport, in which he is 16th in the standings with a best result of seventh.
Lastly, “Sam Urus” has replaced Dani Mota’s vacated #5 car at TC Racing. In his place is American driver Dean Pedersen (#71), who is currently 10th in the F4 CEZ standings with Mathilda Racing. The 16-year-old notably scored a third-place finish in race three at the Slovakia Ring last time out. Mota will instead be competing in CEK, Spain’s national karting championship, in which he sits third in the senior standings.

How to follow: All sessions will have live timing available on its-live.net. All races will be broadcast for free on YouTube.
Weather forecast: Sunny on Thursday. Showers possible on Friday, mostly in the afternoon. Warm and sunny on Saturday and Sunday, with further intermittent thunderstorms possible on Sunday.
What to know: French F4 returns to Spa-Francorchamps for its only meeting abroad this season. Changing weather is set to factor at least qualifying and could shuffle the standings.
Championship leader and early-season title favourite Guillaume Bouzar has nearly twice as many points as his nearest rivals Thibaut Ramaekers, Lilian Soares and Hugo Herrouin. With three race wins and four pole positions, Bouzar already has a comfortable margin atop the standings, but he will have to watch out for Ramaekers, racing in his native Belgium for the first time in his single-seater career. The reigning OK world karting champion will want to build on the momentum he has from taking his maiden win last time out.
Rookies Soares and Jack Iliffe will be keen to confirm their impressive form from Dijon-Prenois, while Oscar Goudchaux, Matthéo Dauvergne, Kota Tsuchihashi and Lewis Francis, the top drivers from Nogaro, must bounce back after an underwhelming second weekend.
Isabella Abreu is out of French F4 for the rest of the season, as is Jimmy Hélias, currently sitting in 14th in the standings with nine points scored. That means 30 drivers remain on the grid, including guest drivers Lisa Billard, Jade Jacquet, Ginevra Panzeri and Autumn Fisher, who have double programmes with other series.

How to follow: All sessions will be streamed live on IndyCar Live. Live timing will be available on the Indy NXT website.
Weather forecast: Sunny Friday and Saturday. Partly sunny Sunday with rain possible.
What to know: Indy NXT visits one of the most iconic tracks in North American motorsport for a double-header.
Road America provides a totally different challenge to the Gateway short oval last time out, with drivers racing on a track often compared to Spa-Francorchamps because of its elevation changes and high-speed corners. It’s a contrast that highlights the versatility drivers needed for IndyCar racing.
Two weeks ago at Gateway, Myles Rowe delivered one of the most spectacular wins in Indy NXT history by going from last on the grid to first at the flag, lifting himself to fifth in the championship. Seventy-two points ahead of Rowe, Nikita Johnson leads, but the fight is closer than ever. Enzo Fittipaldi in second and Tymek Kucharczyk in third are within five points of the championship leader, and with two races in two days, a mistake could come with huge consequences.
Nicolas Stati returns to the #15 Cusick Morgan Motorsports car after missing the race at Gateway. Yuven Sundaramoorthy, who drove in his place at Gateway, was named the official reserve driver for the team on Wednesday.

Jack Jeffers comes into this weekend as the championship leader, seven points ahead of Freedom 90 race winner Michael Costello. Leonardo Escorpioni is third in the standings, 13 points behind Jeffers. Frankie Mossman, who crashed early in the Freedom 90, sits fourth in the championship, 21 points behind the leader.
USF Pro 2000 tested at Road America for two days last week, with Jeffers and Escorpioni both topping two sessions each.
Mayer Deonarine (#20) returns to the series with Pabst Racing after missing the race at IRP, while Jeshua Alianell (#28) will make his USF Pro 2000 debut with TJ Speed Motorsport, replacing Indy NXT frontrunner Tymek Kucharczyk, who joined TJ Speed for a one-off outing to gain experience on ovals. Alianell competed in USF2000 last year, finishing 13th with one podium.
Jacob Douglas for Pabst Racing and Mac Clark for Exclusive Motorsports are missing this weekend because of budget issues.
Brady Golan, Tanner DeFabis and Charles Finelli are also not on the grid this weekend. Golan will instead be competing in FR Americas, in which he sits second in the standings.
