The 2019 season of Isac Blomqvist was one with ups and downs. He did well to outscore his teammate in the Formula Regional European Championship, but couldn’t finish the season after his first podium finish. This season he has set his eyes on two series. We had a chat with him.

His career in single-seaters started in 2018 with two series: the Spanish F4 Championship and the SMP F4 Championship. In Spain he only drove one round (three races) but astonishingly he finished second in all of them (grabbing two poles and a fastest lap in the process). He finished the SMP season in third, scoring three wins and nine podiums, finishing behind Mikhael Belov and Konsta Lappalainen.

The Swedish 18-year old would meet Lappalainen again in 2019. As a teammate this time with KIC Motorsport, the team of the Fin’s father. While Blomqvist only did five of the eight Formula Regional European Championship rounds, he managed to outscore his teammate and finished tenth in the standings. He bagged one podium (in his final race) and scored two pole positions.
