To really round off the 2022 FRECA season, we invited vice-champion Gabriele Mini and rookie-champion Leonardo Fornaroli to come on the F1 Feeder Series Podcast. This week is also a special one: it’s for the second time the FIA Motorsport Games take place, so we invited Malaysia’s contestant Alister Yoong to talk about it.

If it wasn’t for a jump start in Imola and the subsequent loss of Race 1, Gabriele Mini could’ve been a lot closer to championship winner Dino Beganovic. But such is racing, acknowledges the Italian on the F1 Feeder Series Podcast. Still he finished second in the championship after a win in the last race where his main rival Paul Aron didn’t finish.
Leonardo Fornaroli was crowned rookie champion as he beat fellow rookie Josh Dufek by just four points in the final standings. A feat he earned by being one of the most consistent drivers in the field. It helps that he says he fits in very well with Italian team Trident, with which he also participated in the post-season FIA F3 test at Jerez.
Alister Yoong is a name you haven’t heard connected to single-seaters in a long time probably, as it was already three years ago he last competed in one he admits on the podcast. But that’s going to change this week for the Malaysian will compete in the FIA Motorsport Games F4 Cup. On the F1 Feeder Series Podcast he explains how it came about and how he reacted to the phone call telling him he would participate.
