Feeder Series weekend preview and schedule: 03–05 July 2026

A bumper weekend of racing to open July sees 12 junior single-seater championships, including most of the big-name series, take to the track at five circuits in Europe and North America. Want to follow one – or try to follow all? We tell you everything you need to know.

By Feeder Series

If you’ve ever wanted to introduce your friends to the magic of junior single-seater motorsport, this might be the one. Almost all of the drivers destined for futures in F1 and IndyCar in the next few years are competing this weekend at one of five storied venues for motorsport.

The tour begins at Silverstone, the home of British motorsport, where F2, F3 and F1 Academy all race together for the first and only time this season. It’s the first time since Barcelona in June 2024 that all three of F1’s single-seater support series have appeared on the same weekend, and hundreds of thousands of fans will be in the stands alongside the millions watching at home to cheer on their teams and drivers. You can hear more about what’s at stake in these series in the latest episode of Feeder Focus, released yesterday.

That Barcelona round in 2024 also coincided with a rare event featuring GB3, FR Europe and Euroformula Open, three of the foremost European series below the F3 level. As they did on that frenetic weekend in 2024, they will take on the Hungaroring for a mid-summer showdown to separate the title contenders from the pretenders.

Over in North America, too, it’s the busiest weekend of all for the IndyCar support paddock, with all four of Indy NXT, USF Pro 2000, USF2000 and USF Juniors converging on the same paddock for the first and only time this year. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will hold five of the nine races from those series on 4 July, the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence, with the others taking place Friday and Sunday.

And if those 10 championships weren’t enough, Eurocup-3 and E4 will also race at separate venues in Italy. The former will hold its third round of 2026 at Imola alongside the European Le Mans Series for the second time this year, while the latter joins the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia and the GT4 Italy Series at Vallelunga. Scroll to find out what’s at stake in all of these championships and how you can keep up with them through streaming and timing.

What to know: F2 returns for round seven of the 2026 season, heading to one of the sport’s most historic venues, Silverstone.

Last weekend in Spielberg proved pivotal in the title fight, as Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov claimed his fourth victory of the season, reducing Gabriele Minì’s championship lead to just two points. The pair are beginning to pull clear of the field, with Invicta Racing’s Rafael Câmara and Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Dunne trailing Minì by 26 and 28 points respectively.

Campos only strengthened their position in the teams’ championship as well. Noel León’s maiden F2 pole, combined with Tsolov’s victory, helped extend their advantage to 168 points, 32 clear of Minì’s MP Motorsport squad. Spielberg also delivered a breakthrough for Trident’s John Bennett, who captured his maiden F2 victory in the sprint race.

Now, the championship moves from the fast, undulating Red Bull Ring to the vast flat expanse that is Silverstone.

There are no changes to the entry list for this round.

Formula 3: Round 5, Silverstone

Circuit: Silverstone Circuit, 5.891 km

Schedule: All times local (UTC+1)

Friday 3 July

  • 08:50–09:35: Free practice
  • 14:00–14:30: Qualifying

Saturday 4 July

  • 09:35–10:20: Sprint race (18 laps)

Sunday 5 July

  • 08:25–09:15: Feature race (22 laps)

How to follow: All sessions will be live-streamed on F1 TV, but fans can also follow them live via the series’ live timing service. Local viewing information can be found here.

Weather forecast: A mix of sunny spells and cloudy intervals all weekend long, with hot temperatures on Saturday and Sunday.

What to know: F3 reaches the halfway point of the 2026 season at Silverstone immediately after a Spielberg round that delivered a new polesitter in Hiyu Yamakoshi and a maiden win for Ernesto Rivera.

Campos Racing were particularly strong at the circuit last year, taking both the sprint and feature race wins – a record that gives championship leader Ugo Ugochukwu a strong opportunity to extend his margin and Naël to get his championship hopes back on track. Ugochukwu now sits 16 points ahead of Briton Freddie Slater, with Naël now 26 points behind after a disappointing weekend in Spielberg for the three-time polesitter.

Freddie Slater heads to his home race as the only driver to have scored a podium at every round this season. In Austria, the Audi junior demonstrated his ability to challenge for wins, and he will be eager to do so in front of a home crowd this weekend.

Ricardo Escotto returns to pilot the #26 AIX Racing car after previously stepping in to race in Brad Benavides’ place in Barcelona, which Salim Hanna took over in Austria. As a result, the Mexican driver will be missing out on rounds 11 and 12 of Indy NXT, which are scheduled to be held this weekend at Mid-Ohio.

F1 Academy: Round 3, Silverstone

Circuit: Silverstone Circuit, 5.891 km

Schedule: All times local (UTC+1)

Friday 3 July

  • 07:45–08:25: Free practice
  • 18:00–18:30: Qualifying

  • 18:05–18:35: Race 1

Sunday 5 July

  • 10:00–10:30: Race 2

How to follow: Sessions will be streamed live on F1 TV and on the series’ X account and YouTube channel. Live timing will be available via the F1 Academy website

Weather forecast: A mix of sunny spells and cloudy intervals all weekend long, with hot temperatures on Saturday and Sunday.

What to know: F1 Academy will race at Silverstone for the first time in series history this weekend.

Leading the championship heading into her home race weekend is Campos’ Alisha Palmowski, who has 78 points after a dominant showing last time out in Montréal. Sitting in second is Rodin’s Emma Felbermayr with 53 points. Rounding out the top three is Palmowski’s teammate and compatriot Megan Bruce with 37 points after taking two podiums in Montréal. Prema’s Mathilda Paatz, who won the reverse-grid race in Montréal, sits in fifth with 35 points, just one behind her teammate Payton Westcott.

Campos lead the teams’ standings with 142 points, with Prema in second with 88 points. Rodin complete the top three with 80 points.

The wild card entry for the round at Silverstone will be Red Bull junior Chiara Bättig (#6). The 16-year-old Swiss driver has been racing in British F4 with Hitech for her first full year in single-seaters. Bättig stood on the podium for the second race in the Silverstone round, and she is currently 13th in the standings. Earlier this year, she also raced in the Formula Winter Series with Campos, with her best finish being second in the final race at Estoril. For the round this weekend, Bättig will be supported by Wella, who supported Joanne Ciconte last year.

Weather forecast: Warm and partly sunny through the weekend, with gusts throughout the weekend and some light showers possible on Friday.

What to know: The second half of the FRegional Europe season kicks off in Budapest this weekend with the championship still wide open.

Now leading the standings on 121 points, Sebastian Wheldon will hope his title challengers continue to falter with Rashid Al Dhaheri on 106 points still yet to win a non-reverse-grid race and an incident-blighted Kean Nakamura-Berta, seven points behind Wheldon, struggling to convert qualifying pace into victories consistently.

Emanuele Olivieri had only taken one top-five finish before Monza, but he transformed his consistently solid performances into front-running pace with a second place in race one and his first win in race three from pole. He is now fourth overall and carrying the momentum needed to push himself into the title fight.

Ten drivers outside the championship top 10 scored points at Monza, and more further down will hope to show their talents again at a very different track.

As Kyuho Lee heads across the paddock to race in GB3, CL Motorsport will field Noah Lisle (#14) for this weekend. The 19-year-old Australian was scheduled to compete in GB3 this season with Hitech following a seventh-place championship finish last season. In April however, he announced that he would be unable to compete as a result of family and financial reasons, making this weekend his return to competition eight and a half months after the end of his 2025 GB3 campaign.

How to follow: All of the weekend’s races are available to watch live on the MSV TV YouTube channel, with the stream also shown on the GB3 Facebook page and website. Live timing for all of the weekend’s sessions can be found through the GB3 website.

Weather forecast: Warm and partly sunny through the weekend, with gusts throughout the weekend and some light showers possible on Friday.

What to know: The GB3 grid heads to Hungary as the Hungaroring plays host to the third round of the 2026 championship.

VRD Racing’s Nikita Bedrin further extended his drivers’ championship charge at the last round at a rain-soaked Spa, taking another race win, which brings his season total up to three. He now sits on 140 points, 27 points ahead of his closest rival, Rodin Motorsport’s Maxim Rehm. Hitech’s Jin Nakamura sits in third, but he has stepped away from the campaign ahead of Budapest to focus on his F3 season, which resumes this weekend at Silverstone.

Rodin Motorsport and VRD Racing are both currently tied at the top of the teams’ championship on 217 points respectively, with Hitech following in third on 158 points.

Replacing the departing Nakamura at Hitech is 16-year-old Maltese driver Jacob Micallef (#4), who currently competes in Spanish F4, sitting 12th in the standings. He will join the team at selected rounds of the remainder of the championship that do not clash with his F4 commitments.

Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing’s Jason Pribyl will also not take part in the next two rounds of the championship, returning at Silverstone. Elite Motorsport’s Kirill Kutskov is also absent this week, as is Jack Taylor, meaning Fortec Motorsports will not be on the grid.

  • 17:05–17:35: Race 3 (17 laps)

How to follow: Qualifying and each race will be available to watch live on the Euroformula Open official YouTube channel. Live timing will be available at Cronococa

Weather forecast: Warm and partly sunny through the weekend, with gusts throughout the weekend and some light showers possible on Friday.

What to know: Euroformula Open reaches the halfway point of its season in Budapest as drivers ready for what could be a new stage in the title fight.

Enzo Yeh, the thus far dominant title protagonist, will be licking his wounds following his first winless weekend last time in Misano. The Taiwanese driver has leapt out to a 65-point lead in the championship but had his vulnerabilities exposed at the Adriatic circuit.

That predominantly came from Mexican pair Jesse Carrasquedo Jr and Javier Herrera, who will each look to claim the role of Yeh’s main title challenger. Diego de la Torre, Everett Stack and Alessandro Famularo are also in the scrap to prove their championship viability.

With a maximum of 79 points available each weekend, the memory of Misano will surely prove inspiration for the five drivers below Yeh in the standings as they hope to claw their way back into contention.

BVM will again change the driver of their third car as Ricardo Baptista continues his main GB3 campaign, also at the Hungaroring. A fellow Brazilian will fill the seat in Celo Hahn (#1), who joins from Brazilian F4. The 16-year-old achieved two podiums as a rookie last season, with his first victory coming at the first round of the 2026 season in April – leaving him sitting sixth overall in the championship.

Sunday 5 July

  • 08:45–09:20: Race 2

How to follow: All sessions will have live timing at Al Kamel Systems. All races will be streamed on the Eurocup-3 YouTube channel

Weather forecast: Hot and sunny all weekend, with temperatures in excess of 30°C.

What to know: Eurocup-3 heads to its first of three new circuits this weekend, once again as part of the support bill for the European Le Mans Series. As Imola will mark Eurocup-3’s first of two visits to Italy, this season will be the first time that the championship visits a country outside of Spain more than once.

Palou Motorsport’s James Egozi won both races at Portimão last time out and now has 106 points, 44 over Hitech’s Keanu Al Azhari. The American driver scored 54 of 56 available points that weekend, only missing out on the two points for pole position in race one to Christopher Feghali.

The sprint race format returns for this weekend, last seen at the season opener in support of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet. On that occasion, Feghali took victory ahead of Enzo Tarnvanichkul and Egozi.

After suffering vertebral injuries at Portimão, Luca Viişoreanu has withdrawn from the Imola weekend. He will be replaced by Juan Cota (#11), who took four podiums on his way to sixth in Spanish F4 last year with MP Motorsport. The 18-year-old Spanish driver also competed in two rounds of the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship with Drivex and two main-season rounds with MP. He achieved best results of second at Jerez and ninth at Monza respectively.

Two drivers who competed in Spanish F4’s most recent round at Aragón will compete in Imola this weekend: Nacho Tuñón (#22) at Tecnicar in place of Casper Stevenson, who has returned to his main campaign in the IMSA SportsCar Championship’s Endurance Cup with DragonSpeed, and Yani Stevenheydens (#70) at GRS Team in place of Jakob Bergmeister.

Tuñón is currently second in the drivers’ standings having taken a win and a third-place finish at Aragón. The 19-year-old Spanish driver also had his win at Portimão reinstated earlier this week after an appeal to his post-race penalty was accepted by the Spanish motorsport federation.

Stevenheydens, 20, previously competed in Eurocup-3’s winter series with GRS, finishing 14th with a best finish of fifth. The Belgian driver is currently competing in the GT4 European Series’ Silver Cup with Elite Motorsport, in which he is 13th in the standings with a best result of third.

Weather forecast: Extremely hot on Thursday and Friday, with heat warnings in effect and heat index values over 38°C. Saturday and Sunday will be partly sunny, with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely.

What to know: Indy NXT is back on track this weekend for two races at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, a traditional road course that made its IndyCar debut in 1980. The undulating 13-turn circuit has an old-school style with little room for error.

Last time out at Road America, Lochie Hughes and Matteo Nannini were victorious. While Hughes won the first race on track and kept it, Nannini was promoted to race winner in race two after Alessandro de Tullio was handed a post-race disqualification for starting on the wrong set of tyres.

With that, the Indy NXT championship fight remains close as Nikita Johnson leads with 350 points, ahead of Tymek Kucharczyk with 344 points. Enzo Fittipaldi lost some ground but remains within touching distance with 323 points. Behind Fittipaldi, the gap from Johnson to fourth-placed Max Taylor of Andretti Global is a much more significant 61 points.

Twenty-three of the 24 drivers from Road America return. The exception is Ricardo Escotto, who will run the F3 round at Silverstone with AIX Racing this weekend. Juncos Hollinger Racing has not announced a replacement driver.

Last time at Road America, G3 Argyros won both races, lifting the 16-year-old to second in the championship with 135 points, 20 points behind championship leader Jack Jeffers with 155 points. Leonardo Escorpioni sits in third in the standings with 131 points.

Prior to this weekend, USF Pro 2000 tested at the Milwaukee Mile in preparation for their second oval fixture of the season. Michael Costello, who won the only oval race so far this year, topped both sessions at the short oval ahead of Escorpioni.

There are two driver changes ahead of this round. The family-run Comet NCMP Racing is back on the grid with Logan Adams (#21), the son of team owner and New Castle Motorsports Park track manager Mike Adams. They last competed in Arlington. Brady Golan is back in the #44 Turn 3 Motorsports machine after prioritising his FRegional Americas championship campaign at Indianapolis, where he took three wins to strengthen his title prospects. What to know: USF2000 will start the second half of its season at Mid-Ohio with two races. Last time at Road America, Eddie Beswick, Anthony Martella and Brad Majman were victorious, though none were quite able to overhaul season-long points leader Sebastián Garzón. The Colombian driver notched three top-five finishes despite a poor qualifying and currently has 234 points, ahead of Majman in second place on 204 and Beswick in third on 171.

Fourth in the standings on 156 points is Evan Cooley, who suffered a massive crash in race three at Road America that destroyed his car but not his resolve as he continues his season at Mid-Ohio.

Twenty drivers are on the entry list for this weekend, down from 24 at Road America, as Elías Vignola, Cole Medeiros, Leonardo Serravalle and Grant Mitchell return to their main series, USF Juniors, which is also racing at Mid-Ohio this weekend.

Kaylee Countryman is also not on the grid this weekend as she races in F1 Academy with ART Grand Prix at Silverstone. What to know: USF Juniors heads to Mid-Ohio for its fourth round of the season.

Following a dominant showing at Mosport last time out in May when he won all three races from pole, Karol Pasiewicz enters the second half of the season on top of the standings by 19 points ahead of Iván Machado Pérez.

But in a surprise turn of events, the Spaniard won’t be at the venue to duke it out with the Pole, with VRD Racing x Pole Position scaling down to one car for Mid-Ohio. Twenty-six points behind Pasiewicz and effectively his closest rival now is Zanella Racing’s Olivier Mrak, whose trifecta of podiums in Canada elevated him to third, four points ahead of teammate Max Mokarem.

The overall top five is rounded out by the third Zanella of Victor Couto, who scored his first two podiums in the first two races of the Mosport round. Exclusive’s highest-placed driver, Cole Medeiros, trails him by four points.

The only new addition to the field is 16-year-old Ohio native Jack Haydu (#18), who makes his series debut for DEForce Racing. Haydu competed in the YACademy Winter Series for Zanella Racing earlier this year, taking a best result of 15th in race three at Miami. He currently races in Formula Race Promotions’ F1600 series. Joining him on the entry list for Mid-Ohio are Pipe Chaparro and Maddie Colleran, who return to DEForce and Zanella respectively after missing the Mosport round in May.

Alongside Machado Pérez, DEForce’s Vilho Aatola and Exclusive’s Connor Aspley are absent from the entry list, with Aspley competing in USF2000 once again. Alex Berg and his family team are also absent.

How to follow: Free practice and qualifying sessions are not broadcast, but ACI Sport provides live timing. Races are live-streamed on ACI Sport’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Weather forecast: Thunderstorms possible on Thursday into Friday morning. Expect warm temperatures and sunny weather the rest of the weekend.

What to know: E4 heads to Vallelunga for its season opener, the first of three rounds this year.

Last season, Williams junior Kean Nakamura-Berta took the drivers’ championship with four wins and four podiums, helping Prema secure the teams’ championship too. In the rookies’ standings, Ukrainian driver Oleksandr Bondarev clinched the title against Salim Hanna by two points.

E4’s grid mainly features Italian F4 drivers and teams, though most are new to E4. Returning drivers such as Oleksandr Bondarev, Niccolò Maccagnani and Italian F4 points leader Luka Sammalisto will look to take an early advantage, but several rookies are showing significant potential. Prema’s Alp Akso dominated the first Italian F4 round and led the drivers’ standings until the most recent event, while Real Racing’s Knud Nielsen will look to replicate his consistency in Italian F4 and fight for another rookie title.

The 2026 E4 season opener is set to host 36 cars. Get to know the drivers and teams with our season guide.
