Eight junior single-seater championships race across four continents this weekend, including Formula 2 and Formula 3, which return to the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Keep reading to get the lowdown on the stories to follow and how to watch all eight championships.

After a much-needed calmer weekend last time out, track action picks up again this weekend, especially in mainland Europe. F2 and F3 venture to Spa as they each cross their seasons’ halfway points, and the addition of a third DRS zone from the exit of Blanchimont to the Bus Stop chicane will enhance overtaking in the Belgian Grand Prix support events.

The greatest number of races, however, will be held at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France, where FRegional Europe, Euroformula Open and E4 all converge. A number of driver changes in the last of those will bring a new dimension to the grid. Keep reading to find out more about the newcomers.

Outside of Europe, Indy NXT races in Nashville, the Kyojo Cup continues its second season with open-wheel machinery in Fuji, and AU4 makes its first of two visits to The Bend.

Weather forecast: Friday brings the possibility of early light rain and warm temperatures before the track dries out for a cool and partly sunny Saturday and Sunday.

What to know: F2 heads to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the forested Ardennes region of Belgium for round eight of the season. 

At Silverstone, Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov delivered a historic double, winning both the sprint and feature races to extend his drivers’ championship lead to 17 points over MP Motorsport’s Gabriele Minì. Invicta Racing’s Rafael Câmara remains third on 94 points, 30 behind Minì, while Van Amersfoort Racing’s Rafael Villagómez enjoyed a career-best weekend with third in the sprint and second in the feature to climb to 10th in the standings.

At just over 7 km in length, Spa-Francorchamps is the longest circuit on the calendar, with the run from La Source through Eau Rouge and up the Kemmel Straight expected to produce a powerful slipstream effect that will play a major role in race strategy.

There are no changes to the entry list for this round relative to Silverstone.

What to know: F3 will also pay a visit to the Belgian Ardennes this weekend for round six of nine this season.

The fight for the title between Ugo Ugochukwu and Freddie Slater is set to continue at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Both are previous winners at this circuit – the former in Italian F4 back in 2023, the latter in both GB3 and FRegional Europe last year. They are separated by 18 points, Ugochukwu on 104 and Slater on 86.

Other previous winners at this circuit also include Van Amersfoort Racing’s Enzo Deligny, who took his maiden FR Europe win there in 2025, and Rodin Motorsport’s Pedro Clerot, who scored back-to-back wins at the start of his 2023 Spanish F4 campaign. Noah Strømsted was also victorious at Spa last year in the F3 sprint race.

The feature race last year was not run because of heavy rainfall. Due to start on pole was Brad Benavides, who is still recovering from the injury he sustained at Monaco. His place at AIX is being filled once again by Ricardo Escotto.

Indy NXT: Round 13, Nashville

Circuit: Nashville Superspeedway, 2.140 km

How to follow: Internationally, all sessions will be streamed live on IndyCar Live. Live timing will be available on the Indy NXT website. In the United States, Practice and the race are shown on Fox Sports 1, while qualifying is shown on Fox Sports 2. In addition, all sessions are streamed on the Fox One app.

Weather forecast: Partly sunny with hot temperatures reaching up to 33°C throughout the weekend. Showers and thunderstorms likely.

What to know: Two weeks after a dominant Enzo Fittipaldi took the championship lead at the road course of Mid-Ohio, Indy NXT is back in action on an oval this weekend at  Nashville Superspeedway. The track was a mainstay on the IndyCar and Indy Lights calendar in the 2000s before returning to their schedules in 2024. Last year, Myles Rowe went from ninth to victory. 

Tymek Kucharczyk and Nikita Johnson are still within touching distance of Fittipaldi at 17 and 20 points back respectively. Neither have yet won on an oval, though, with the previous oval race this season at Gateway in June seeing Rowe go from last to first in a spectacular race. 

For this weekend, the oval qualifying format is in effect, which means drivers line up in reverse championship order for a single qualifying attempt. Each driver’s average speed across two laps will decide their starting position for the race. 

As was announced during the Mid-Ohio weekend, Nolan Allaer won’t be on the grid for Juncos Hollinger Racing this weekend, but the 24-year-old is set to compete with the team at the final road courses of the season in Portland and Laguna Seca. The team has not announced a replacement for the car originally occupied by Ricardo Escotto for this weekend or the following oval race at Milwaukee.

What to know: FR Europe travels to the Circuit Paul Ricard for round six of the season before the summer break commences.

Rashid Al Dhaheri has the biggest championship lead of any driver so far this year, boasting a 21-point gap at the top after taking his first regular-grid race victory of the season. The Mercedes junior will hope to buck a trend for R-ace GP with their last victory at the track coming in 2021, but he will likely face a challenge from teammates Emanuele Olivieri and Yuki Sano after each took maiden victories across the past two weekends.

Title contender Sebastian Wheldon will hope to shake off his scoreless weekend in Hungary, while ART Grand Prix in particular will wish to continue the strong track record of French teams and drivers this season at home, with their rookie driver Alexandre Munoz the foremost of three optimistic Frenchmen on the grid.

There will be no driver changes this weekend as Noah Lisle (#14) has secured a second weekend with CL Motorsport following his return to racing in Budapest.

Euroformula Open: Round 5, Le Castellet

What to know: Euroformula Open rolls onward to Le Castellet to begin the second half of the season, with Enzo Yeh still atop the drivers’ standings.

The Taiwanese driver looks a safe bet to secure more podiums and victories in France, having taken at least two podium finishes at each round so far. 

Half the season still remains, and new race winner Diego de la Torre has been consistently contending at the front. Yeh’s advantage out in front remains ever vulnerable to a small trip up, and the baying pack have shown their ability to capitalise on any errors.

Everett Stack is one whose season has picked up steam recently. The American took his first victory of 2026 last time out, avenging an underwhelming season start having originally been considered a contender for the title. He will hope his momentum is beginning to surge as time ticks down to stop early championship celebrations.

More cars will join the chase this weekend. Drivex return for their second round this season, again fielding their Spa line-up of Gino Trappa (#48) and Filippo Fiorentino (#37), who move across from Eurocup-3. 

Remaining in the series for a second weekend, Celo Hahn (#14) moves across from BVM to also race with Drivex. The Brazilian achieved two point-scoring finishes in Budapest with a best result of ninth.

Also rejoining the grid will be Alceu Feldmann Neto (#8) in the fourth BVM car, replacing Hahn. The Brazilian will hope to learn more from this weekend after suffering retirements in two of the three races at Spa.

E4: Round 2, Le Castellet

What to know: E4 has arrived on French soil at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, the only round held away from Italy.

Two weeks ago, E4’s season opener in Mugello saw US Racing’s Luka Sammalisto take the drivers’ championship lead by winning the first and final races. The Finn took the same opportunities as in Italian F4, clearly understanding the car and benefitting from US Racing’s experience on track. 

However, Prema is not far away from US Racing, with only 20 points separating the two most successful outfits on the grid. Williams junior Oleksandr Bondarev made the most of the weekend for Prema, sitting in third place thanks to his consistency. 

The standout driver of the last round was none other than Mercedes junior Kenzo Craigie. The R-ace GP rookie driver won in race two, earning a much-deserved second place in the general standings and first in the rookie standings.

Replacing George Proudford-Nalder at AKM Motorsport, Saudi driver Abdullah Kamel (#96) will make his return to the E4 grid in the same team in which he raced last season. He finished 27th overall in last year’s standings and 11th in the rookie standings. Earlier this year, he competed in the first three rounds of the Formula Winter Series before travel issues forced him to withdraw. He finished 28th with a best result of ninth place obtained during race three at the Estoril round.

Jenzer Motorsport are also joining  E4, fielding three drivers. Ella Häkkinen (#21) is a 15-year-old Czech-licensed rookie driver currently competing in F4 CEZ, in which she sits 14th in the standings. The daughter of the two-time F1 champion Mika Häkkinen and McLaren junior has taken a best race result of seventh in her first year competing in single-seaters.

Another young driver coming from F4 CEZ is 17-year-old Teodor Borenstein (#20), likewise hailing from Czech Republic. He currently stands third in the F4 CEZ championship standings with three wins and three further podiums. He also competed in FWS earlier this year, finishing 15th with one podium in Portimão.

Bader Al Sulaiti (#26) returns to E4 after finishing 26th last year with a best result of 13th. The 18-year-old Qatari driver is currently competing in Italian F4 and is 16th with a best result of sixth place. Earlier this year, he competed in the UAE4 Series, finishing 12th in the standings with a win at the second Yas Marina round.

Ginevra Panzeri (#64) will compete with PA Motorsport as their sole driver. The 17-year-old Italian driver is currently competing on a part-time schedule in Italian F4, sitting in 49th position in the overall standings as well as fourth in the women’s standings. She is also competing in F4 CEZ, in which she sits 26th with a best result of 11th place, and in French F4 as a guest, having finished in the top 10 twice. Last year, she competed in E4, finishing 38th with a best result of 20th.

Finally, Alexander Chartier and Joaquín Rubino will not take part in this round. With the latter not participating, this means that Scuderia Buell is also missing the weekend altogether.

Weather forecast: Sunny afternoons all weekend with light wind throughout. 

What to know: AU4 heads to The Bend this weekend for the first of two rounds held there. The top two Gen2 frontrunners, Marco Manson and Jensen Marold, are neck and neck on points after the former took two race wins at May’s Sydney round. 

Manson and Marold each have three race wins and two second-place finishes, but a fourth-place finish for Manson gives him the advantage over Marold, who took a seventh place early in the season following a collision. Pole positions and fastest lap points account for the remaining six points Marold has scored.

In Gen1, Koby Wilson won all three races, with Lewis Gotch and Jackson Culver in second and third respectively every race. Wilson has extended his lead from Culver to a healthy 32 points. 

Jamie-Lee Su also made her season debut in Gen2, finishing ninth in race one and eighth in races two and three.

AGI Sport Gen1 competitor Rixon Salvino was the sole new name in free practice. He had originally been slated to make his debut last time out in Sydney but did not appear in any competitive sessions.

What to know: The Kyojo Cup heads into its second round of the season this weekend, again at Fuji Speedway. Last time out, Riona Tomishita dominated the round, topping qualifying and winning both races. Joanne Ciconte is second in the standings, the Australian rookie trailing Tomishita by eight points following back-to-back second-place finishes. 

In the sprint race, Tomishita took her first championship victory, 2.108 seconds ahead of the relentless Ciconte. Cerumo Inging’s Kokoro Sato rounded out the podium, overtaking Aimi Saito early in the race.

The feature race saw more of the same, with Tomishita and Ciconte immediately stretching away from the pack and Miki Onaga overtaking Sato for third place. Saito, who started in fifth place and then fell to seventh, climbed up the order to take third from Onaga on lap 12. Tomishita came home in first, 2.781 seconds ahead of Ciconte, with Saito taking a hard-won third place.

Mako Hirakawa (#4) and Zhao Yunqing (#57) are set to make their season debuts this weekend with Rookie Racing and Buzz Racing respectively.
